Enneagram Personality Types

We both recently took Enneagram tests. It was fun, teasing apart our perception of each other from self-perception.

 

Echidna fits type 9 (9w1) and I fit type 4 (4w5). We identified with most of the advice for our types. 

 

The basic desire of type 4 is, "to find themselves and their significance (to create an identity)." Funny and fitting in the context of tulpa.

 

Bullshit so-called ancient esoteric origins of the system aside, what we like in the Enneagram is that it comes with advice for self-improvement. On sites like Enneagram Institute there are descriptions of each type at their best most developed behavior and their worst unhealthiest behavior and many levels in between. It's not like other personality tests that trap you into a box forevermore that you can then use to justify anything you do. I'm sure other users on this forum could benefit from using the type-specific advice to make "forcing" and such more meaningful and personally relevant.

 

P.S. I found this post in the guidelines that says necroposting is okay. Let me know if that's not the case. This is the only Enneagram thread I found in search. The topic is worthy of more awareness.
