That's the format for the names of imageboard boards. In this case, 4chan boards. /x/ is the name of the Paranormal board, /a/ is the Anime board, /mlp/ is the My Little Pony board, /jp/ is the "Otaku Culture" board, et cetera.

On 16th March, a certain someone linked to a tupper thread via a lucid dreaming thread in /mlp/. And so, our federated connoisseur proceeded into the depths of insanity, negroes, cupcakes, and lolis.

Saw the Tulpa story on the Creepypasta Wiki again and that time decided to look the concept up further, then someone on /x/ redirected me here.

no one beats me in extravagance, the first time i actually read about tulpas was in a thread in the katawa shoujo forums about liu bei's trolling issue with that hanako tulpa he claimed to have, then he posted the link to this site and here i am.

I was lurking /x/ and ended up finding a thread on tulpae. I downloaded some guides and never touched 'em until I learned of tulpa.info
