Guest MegaBusta February 21, 2013 February 21, 2013 Was reading a spook thread on /v/ when someone posted the tulpa creepy pasta. Did some more research on it, and here I am. After reading the guides on here, I found out that I had already been forcing on and off for sometime without even knowing it, and decided to go all the way. 73 days have passed fairly quickly.
Super Monkey February 23, 2013 February 23, 2013 Well, I learned about the concept from the crappy creepypasta but I never really thought of it as anymore than that. A story. So fast forward a year or so and I was browsing /x/ looking for any creepypasta threads and I found a tulpa thread. I learned from that thread there were actual developed methods to making a tulpa and the rest is history. Tulpa: Mary Sex: Female Began 11-16-12 Stage: Sentient- working on a voice
Guest Dookums February 23, 2013 February 23, 2013 Some guy on a forum I go to posted the Tulpa Thread Simulator video.
MrCrazy February 23, 2013 February 23, 2013 Encylopediadramatica. On which I saw the thread simulator.
Lord of Yggdrasil February 23, 2013 February 23, 2013 Already been making worlds of beings ripped from my soul, saw a post on 4chan directing me to this site, held some interest in another take on the forming of life with one's mind/soul.
Couguhl February 23, 2013 February 23, 2013 Saw a tulpa thread on /x/ some years back, and found it fascinating. I tried to make one using some of the guides anons were posting, but I gave up because I didn't have enough time. Sometime last year, I re-discovered the phenomenon and the possibilities consumed my thoughts. Researching it again, I found tulpa.info and made an account. Flexionsensor February 24, 2013 February 24, 2013 In the midst of a glorious ski trip in July, my friend Cole [redacted] was gazing off into the setting sun whilst we sped across the glowing waters. He seemed dazed in a way. My party and I asked him what was wrong, and he responded by saying, "I'm making a tulpa." We asked him what that was, and he stated that "It's something you imagine and think about, developing it so that it eventually grows on its own." This intrigued me, but I let it slip my mind until one fateful day when I was bored in a class which didn't affect me, and since the class had computers with internet access, "Tulpa" was the only thing on my mind for some reason. By pure chance, my journey ended with this site, and the rest is history, documented in my PR. "DUDE! That's wrong! You don't do that! That's like giving a kid a knife and telling him that it's a neck massager!" Shameless self promotion!
Jabre February 24, 2013 February 24, 2013 I was complaining to 4chan about how we don't have a lucid dreaming board. Then some guy said "</ , tulpafag." I didn't know what a "tulpafag" was, so I looked it up on Encyclopedia Dramatica. It said something about weaboos and imaginary friends, so I assumed it was just people who liked anime or mlp too much. Three weeks later, people on 4chan's /x/ were talking about it; i knew it was something more. So, I look it up, and after a couple of days, I discover tulpa.info. Now I realize that Reddit's /r/tulpas and tulpa.info are really the only accurate and major sources for tulpae.
Nobillis February 27, 2013 February 27, 2013 Hello. I'm Kevin, and I'm borrowing Kerin's account to respond to this thread (I don't often get involved in the site). Anyway, back in the 1970's there was a big trend in "self help" and "personal development" books - many of which came out of California. I used to be really smart when I was young (not so much now), and I read a book about improving yourself by making a "Thought Friend" (a Tibetan practice which today we call "tulpas"). Now, I was really precocious when I was young. I'd already learned how to hypnotize myself. So, I thought I'd try it out. I use hypnosis to aid meditation, and I tried to make a "thought friend" like the book described (the tulpa in the book was one which the author had created and was called Jenney). Sadly, it did not seem to work. Much later, many years later, I found that it had worked and that I had indeed made that which I had hoped for - someone capable of helping me put myself back together (I had been suffering from depression for a long time). Thanks. Yours humbly, Kevin Tl;dr: From my point of view, the Lord of Heaven gave me a tulpa and I'm alive today because of that. Please consider supporting Tulpa.info.
J Moldy March 1, 2013 March 1, 2013 Found the tulpa general thread on /mlp/ Although now that I think about it, I did see the word on one of the pony thread simulators on youtube, but I never gave it much thought.
