GuessWho March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 I don't think it will be changing on this community, given the already established domain name. ...Aside from those users comically calling them tupperware.
Chupi March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 I refuse to seriously call the sweetest and most understanding people I know plastic food storage containers. Lyra: human female, ~17 Evan: boy, ~14, was an Eevee Anera: anime-style girl, ~12; Lyra made her My blog :: Time expectations are bad (forcing time targets are good though)
fennecfoxx March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 I'm okay with tulpa, to be honest. Does it wholly matter that much? Words do not make the man, and a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, after all. Keep tulpa. It works for me. This. Deluded myself into believing my imaginary friends were real, then deluded myself into thinking they weren’t. Whatever the case, the OG gang’s still here: Host: fennec (they/them) Tulpas: Alex (he/him) and Kayleigh (she/her) Delete all memories of those who know my awkward past
Guest Anonymous March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 I feel that we could have a far longer, scientific name for tulpas, but for the moment, as a less formal term, tulpas is fine. But one user who doesn't like the name isn't really a good indicator of a community wide desire to change it.
glitchthe3rd March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 The only problem with calling them thoughtforms is that it's a highly ambiguous term, whereas tulpa (at least in English) refers to a specific phenomenon. "Science isn't about why, science is about why not?" -Cave Johnson Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi My progress report
Somekindofpony March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 I think tulpa is perfectly fine, but if you really want to go more scientific... how about morphomens, morphonou, animorphia, or something similar? No. How about we call them what they have been turned into. Plastic storage bins. Jade "These are not the droids you are looking for" Me "These are not the droids we are looking for.."
NekoiNemo March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 Why would you ever want to rename it? Human is human, tulpa is tulpa. And plastic food container is plastic food container. I fully agree with KingJick - does it really matter which way we call them? And i think "tulpa" is better because it's multilingual. Human, человек, 人間... Do we really want same crap with our little friends? =_= 現実に抗え!
Guest Anonymous March 27, 2013 March 27, 2013 I honestly don't see why we should change it, and it probably won't change since it's an established term here, and the site's name is tulpa.info anyway. At most the term tupper could become more used.
