I'm about to ask a really tedious question, but bare with me, please.

I thought I knew what active forcing meant, as opposed to passive forcing, but now I'm not quite sure. I had the imagine in my head that active forcing is strictly where you close your eyes (or keep them opened, but I'd be more likely to close them) and think or talk to your tulpa. I've now seen something that's made me question if there's a bit more to it.

I mean to say, could you be writing everything out at the same time as active forcing? Or if you had written down a letter to your tulpa and read it to them while doing only that, would that be active forcing? Or would that only qualify as passive forcing, as you are reading more than you are thinking?

Thanks. :)

James: Hello, all!

Active Forcing - Often a dedicated span of time used to focus solely on the tulpa while the host generally tries to avoid any possible distractions.

Passive Forcing - The host does something with the tulpa while not focusing solely on them. A host talking to their tulpa, while they are at work or in school doing something else is a good example of passive forcing.

If you want analogues for this:

Active Forcing:

-

- Narrating to your tulpa, and mostly fixating on your tulpa, and how you interact with them

- Visualizing them in some way; them doing something in some way; how they react to something in some way for a certain span of time

- Blocking off awareness from external things, and having more inward attention towards your tulpa (For circumstance in relation to imposition, it might be more focus on external things while trying to add in your tulpa into that perception of your reality through several senses.)

- Any circumstance where your awareness seems to be fixated mostly on your tulpa. If you consider actively imagining them while also doing other things without those things distracting you from fixating on them in some way, that's active forcing in a nutshell. However, that seems to be fitted for passive forcing since you can only do so much with your awareness depending on how much you trained your overall concentration; everyone's different.

Passive Forcing:

- Casually daydreaming about your tulpa in some way while still being able to concentrate on whatever tasks you do in your daily lifestyle

- Popping a random question for them to react and potentially respond to while still carrying out your activities during the day

what i've usually done is passive forcing, it saves on headaches, getting distracted or confused.

as for active forcing i spend like 3-5 hours talking to ari and my other entities, tulpas, what have you.

just depends on what you really want to do. although for better results than mine i would think that linkzelda has a better answer than me.

i'm often too busy to actively force sometimes because i make rpg games and my other duties but i always have time for my ari.
