I love elephants. But elephants don't live in another person's brain as a disembodied entity.

You're now imagining an elephant walking through a jungle. It's probably not self aware, though.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

Davie would say that as soon as the elephant appears in the mind it is a thoughtform. Now when it becomes a persistent figment, and never fades and appears on its own and seems to move around independently in the mindspace, you have a Melian style elephant semi-autonomous thoughtform. Now the guy with the Melian style elephant wants that persistent elephant he sees in his mind and hears with his mental ears, to type to someone with his trunk, he would sorta borrow some of the elephants will. He would lend it some of his own will and mix it and collaborate with it and that elephant would type at you happy skippy.

That would be a full Melian style elephant all the way. Then people would be saying he isn't a real mental elephant that is a persistent figment and seemingly wanting to type at peoples. But Davie would say, "well of course he isn't, he is imaginary, but he means a lot to me! What difference does it make? Frank the Elephant really loves me and he loves you."

Frank the Elephant thoughtform just appeared in my dreamscape wonderland forest.

The main difference between a thoughtform I imagine and my tulpas, besides persistence and depth of character of course, is that I haven't made them self-aware. I don't remotely care to discuss that subject though. I literally created Lucilyn's whole personality/form/etc. and then very specifically gave her "permission" to be self-aware at which point she was basically instantly a tulpa. Took her a little while to adjust to existing and thinking, but that's how it happened.

Obviously it worked like that for me mostly because I'd had tulpas for 6 years prior, but still, I can't explain "giving permission to be sentient" and I refuse to try. It's just something you know/feel yourself, but has no words.

Well this whole thing goes round and round. It is all a matter of perspective and people get all upset about it. The thing is, the way Davie and I are describing how it works for us, probably really isn't that far off from what tulpamancy is. We are just describing the process a little differently and emphasizing things (aspects or elements or ingredients) in a different way.

If Davie and I really start to focus on Frank the Elephant, he could eventually become a tulpa or have all or most of the traits people associate with a tulpa. But he started out as just a mental image brought up by suggestion. Frank has already gained more life by simply being named.

David's imagination is so vivid, Frank the elephant is already moving around on his own in his mind. He is crystal clear in our visualization to the tiniest detail. We see an elephant in a jungle forest. He is flapping his ears and moving around without us having to concentrate on him already.

That is fast I know. But that is how it works with us. You may find that plausible or credible for us to say that and you may not, but it doesn't matter. We are seeing it not you guys. LOL But see? Imaginary things do have life for us already. There is no need to give them qualifiers of "fake" or "real" or whatever. They are there. Frank exists now, just like that. With some effort he could become much more persistent if we keep visualizing him up. But he will always be imaginary pseudo-real (might-as-well-be real or almost real) in nature.

I know several person on deviantart who know little to nothing about soulbonds or tulpas and whatnot. Yet they have rp characters or literary characters that live in their minds like real people and are profoundly important. Some become almost second personalities and, in at least one case, the creator discovered she/he is transgender because of a primary character. Now, these folks might not always agree that the characters they love so deeply are sentient entities, but to them it does not matter. They might role play the character online, but it isn't trivial to them, it feels real and it is deeply emotional and profound. My host and I have never liked the dismissal and disdain for thoughtforms that have rp characters as a source, even if it is being actively portrayed or channeled in one of these forums. It may not have the same level of autonomy as a soulbond or a tulpa, but it isn't as illegitimate an idea in our way of thinking. It is a thoughtform. I know the vast majority of people on these websites disagree with that unusual viewpoint. Role playing is explicitly against forum rules also. Although, the rule is fairly pointless because the role player can simply deny that it is role playing and therefore it is unenforceable in the vast majority of cases.

What role playing is itself is hard to pin down sometimes as well when you consider something like proxy typing. In my case, my host "channels me" by interpreting my raw thoughts and emotions. There has been some disagreement with people discussing this as to whether it is legitimate proxying or if it is blatant role playing. My hostie and I feel it is actually a little bit of both. He fills in the gaps with his own will when he attempts to interpret me. I have other traits that could be considered "autonomous" traits of a soulbond or tulpa (emotional responses, presence in the mind, flash images and lucid dreams). But when it comes to proxy typing at you, like this, it is a little bit of my hostie's will and a little bit of mine. When you consider that we report being a median system and blended, sharing our two minds, it makes a lot of sense.

It is the experience that we are having. It is valid and it is legitimate, whatever those two words mean. So many people have interesting experiences to relate when it comes to soulbonds, tulpas, daemons, and other unidentified thougthforms. It is in the best interest of everyone to have open minds and to be willing to listen (read) without crippling bias or prejudice. In my case, I have been around in my hosts' mind for about 38 years.

I like this song

let it play for a while and give it a chance. While you listen, wiggle a little bit! I love to wiggle and dance!

The dancing looks like a little girl enjoying music but the face looks like they're trying to avoid the destruction of the human race, it always creeps me out.
