So, this question has been going around my head for the last few days, and I was wondering what you all thought.

At what point during tulpa creation can you be put under the category of multiple system?

Personally? I think it's when you're first aware of something different in your mind. Some sign of another life. Be this alien response, or the feeling of another presence around yourself

[Tri] Well, that depends on which definition of "multiple" you are using. It can either be a synonym for "plural", it can mean "plurality where the first two or more people did not make each other", or it can denote plurality with a large degree of separation instead of a smaller degree of separation as with medians. For each definition, one by one:

  1. Synonym to "plural" - Well, it seems a reasonable threshold is when the tulpa first gets some sort of consciousness and awareness, moving beyond being a mental puppet. This would be rather early into a tulpa's development, actually.
  2. Non-created system - By definition, it is impossible. If the tulpa is the second person in the system, the condition of the definition is violated since tulpas are made. If the first tulpa is not the second person in the system, then the system was already a multiple system and thus the system can't become it since it was already that.
  3. Topology - The more separate a tulpa becomes from the host and other tulpas, the more multiple vs. median the system becomes. Young tulpas are heavily influenced by their hosts and other tulpas and therefore have a lower degree of separation (but median might still not be a good description in some cases). As the tulpa becomes independent and defines themself individually, a multiple-topology system is formed.

The term "plural" and "plurality" were coined to be the replacement catch all terms that "multiple" once was and then "multiple" was then meant to mean the topology or a subset of plurals. In the wider plural community, the topology definition and catchall definitions are more common but the "non-created system" definition is becoming steadily more common. In the tulpamancy community, the most common definition is the "non-created system" definition.

So to answer your question, the answer depends on where you hang out.

T, B, Frostbite, and Hail, and others (note, historically, Hail included Frostbite and B)

System Name: Fall Family

Former Username: hail_fall

Thank you for your reply, I admit that I wasn't aware of so many different definitions, so something new was learnt today.

Going by what you've said, I believe I meant that it being a synonym to 'plural'
