"They not like us" - Stories to teach the "muggles" about the values of Tulpas

Recommended Posts

It is creepy, but after a while I developed mental resistance to that stuff, so that dweller level phenomenon is just stuff I can sleep through. I think a lot of people who experience this sort of thing develop some level of resistance to them.

From my experience a lot of this stuff also works on some level with your degree of emotional resonance or some other sort of connection to the entity or whatever thing you're dealing with. If the connection is disrupted the way it did with my experience with my tulpa (who has done similar things a couple of other times), it wouldn't get to you, and you get to just kind of unemotionally observe the thing without becoming engaged. Working to address whatever emotion or psychological issue you have in common with the entity, or that class of entity/phenomenon also appear to help with this sort of issue on a long term basis.

Like what you or @CautiousMancer said, it's not the sort of thing that a person needs to get involved in. Unless it comes to you, I guess. Then you deal with it as it comes.

I think if a person has a purely materialist view of things, but works hard to understand their mind and subconscious (and not just blindly follow what's presented as true by the mainstream), on what's lurking in them or what makes them tick, and do their best to work out and address the issues in them, they can still grow magnificently going by whatever standards people use in terms of the occult, and that's probably enough for most people to have a happy, fulfilled life.

@glitchthe3rdperhaps I'm a bit lost here, so we're saying that "confabulation" could be equally as valid as an actual real experience?

I don't mean to be disrespectful of course, I'm just curious as to why/how this came to be.

If you phrase it like it's possible to have parallel-processed-background-experiences-un-conscious-to-the-host instead, then yeah it'll sound lame - just going to be another difference in beliefs

For those not believing that's possible, while my system wouldn't personally choose to have ~confabulated experiences, it shouldn't be considered too much less meaningful than general tulpamancy experiences - they're as meaningful as they are to you, by definition

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

if Cheryl pulled up saying "Hey, so last night I went to visit a friend who lives in someone else's head in America" then I'd be VERY confused for a while, especially because she doesn't really do that and part of me would want to "believe" the words of a more than decade old tulpa without dismissing them as intrusive thoughts, although it might be just "confabulation".

The best part is that I actually knew people here in the community who I hold in high regard and claimed they could achieve such things, and said so to me privately during "unsuspecting times" - but regardless the original question was related to parallel processing, not "confabulating tulpa claims".

Anyways, we should go back on topic now. Tulpa stories please - for the new people!

I have always had the ability to dissociate and imagine to extreme degrees. I think we have hyperphantasia. I say ‘we’ as I believe we have a dissociative disorder from ongoing medical trauma and been Autistic/ADHD and being undiagnosed until much later in life.

That said  my ‘alters’ were just the typical ‘different versions of me’ at different ages and ‘social mask’ alters (based on other kids as I was encouraged to copy others to know how to behave ‘normally’) to cope with school, college etc.

It wasn’t until my mum died and just before had ask me to promise her I wouldn't forget her (she had died still quite young) that our younger alters started to imagine her in the inner world with them..They were youngest and had absolute belief in magic, spirits etc.  They went to live inside with her and never came out again for years as ‘inside’ was seen as the only place she could live if they lived in an ‘holodeck’ with her.

newer social masks were disconnected from the inside incase they mentioned her and people thought we were ‘mad’ or tried to send us to therapy to ‘make her disappear’.  that way she stayed with us although for many years always remained in the form she had last been to us.

It wasn't until many years later we got online and had read about or seen on TV something about Walk-in spirits and to a forum where someone had also mentioned ‘Tulpas’ and we realised what she potentially was.   we got into video games and encouraged her to the front to watch us playing as her then she would start to say. no 'I want my hair longer'..or 'don’t make me look so old that was my last life’

We had found forums for people with DID too by then (before we found this one) and people would introduce different versions of themselves and talk as them so we thought this looks fun..  our ‘other me’ alters don't have to hide here.  (At the time we didn't realise those people had got DID for other reasons like abuse from parents).  ‘Mum’ chose her name and age …showed us how she wanted to be seen by directing us to a photo and she became our alter ‘Kitty’ ..we did the same for dog who had passed away…giving her spirit a changeling body inside so she could choose herself. She also initially stayed in her past form for ages just running around with the littles inside and snuggling up to them to give comfort when they were upset about missing her in the outside world.  Eventually ‘Jess’ made the biggest transformation of us all!

Kitty chose to remain in human form despite wanting to be younger but wanted a partner who looked as our dad had in their younger days so ‘Angelo’ was created for her.  Unlike with Kitty though there is no belief his spirit resides within us as we know he wouldn’t feel comfortable in a female body and if he was going to do that he’d be more likely to do it with our brother to be able to help him with running his business and be around cars and other blokes etc.

We have since seen online it doesn’t advise people to base their Tulpa’s on people who have died but we have found it helped us greatly with processing grief and death and understanding the difference between Tulpa’s and Alters.

Kitty and Angelo still live happily inside taking care of our ‘littles' for us and our littles decided they wanted to identify as Tulpa’s too and not re-integrate so we let them create their own (inner) Tulpa bodies and names. As a host I don’t suffer from depression so severely anymore and the few other remaining alters who have chosen to remain seperate in our subsystem are also happier.

I've read somewhere that your brain can’t tell the difference and will react to imaginery scenario’s as if real…think of watching an horror movie when you get lost in it and your heartrate starts going up and you scream and hide behind a cushion kind of thing!  ..or you cry over a sad movie as if you went through that with them.

I think there was a study done with people in MRI machines while watching stuff and scientists watching what was going on in their brains or something… I’ll see if I can find it again.

There's a lot to be said for level of immersion, obviously pretend scenarios rarely ever approach total immersion, like the moment you're jumpscared in a horror film

Gotta say again you guys have made the exact opposite thread the title wanted, I don't think you could've done a much worse job of normalizing plurality with normal stories, to the point I don't think I could even convince someone who read this far that these are out of the ordinary experiences anymore...

The thread just kind of attracted people with more metaphysical and disorderly experiences for some reason

The thread's still fine, but I would honestly recommend a title/intent change to just sharing tulpa stories in general, the plot was lost

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

It's legitimate content in general, nothing wrong with it, but it's the last thread I would send anyone who had doubts about the mental health of tulpamancers...

Title change is still up to you though, if you think this is somehow going to convince anyone we're normal people then that's your call

(I'm still just posting as a normal user, can't exactly turn off the admin title, but I only have that for taking care of the forum when necessary - still just been a normal user checking the forum daily for a decade)
