Interesting, but I'd say something deeper than just the placebo effect is in the play.

Is there any reason for which you may be thinking that it is 'deeper' than the placebo effect? I'm not all for the placebo hypothesis, because usually, it is a self-induced ideology, and its act is fully voluntary. What I said may go very deep into how your mind, and my mind, and everyone's mind functions, or it's just another load of shit. But even then. This community has been built around pseudo-science. Hypothesis after hypothesis, and to this day, the theories we put in place have failed to show concise results. Parroting, for instance, works for some, and fails for others, by this, I mean that there is absolutely no general consensus tulpamancy can possibly run along.

Is there any deeper than the 'placebo' effect, in all cases? A wise person once told me 'When you force, it's like forcing your mind to accept the reality that there is someone else out there.'. Is tulpamancy, in its core, not a product of placebo? You spend days, weeks, months if not years telling yourself there is someone in your head. Because you want it. In a way, it IS placebo, although that does not de-legitimize a tulpa's consciousness, thoughts and emotions in the spectrum of autonomy.

Let me ask you a question; did you tell me that it may be something 'deeper' than placebo because of how obscure tulpamancy is, or just because the concept of placebo seems less... likely to be in action?

We are unaware of so many things. I've been into this stuff for a while, now. Maybe too long of a while. I let go of childish things a long while as well. My mind has been through certain things neither I nor modern psychology can explain, in a non-edgy way, of course. We're simply too unaware and ignorant of what is and what is not, to say what it is and what it is not. By that logic, surely, the placebo theory can be right as it can be wrong, but its legitimacy is the same as anything else that may be said.

Ah, I'm too tired. I only came here to help.

Am I supposed to know what ASMR is? Is it bad that I have no idea what the OP is talking about?

Ah god, I should've put a link up beforehand! Sorry! Here's a Wikipedia link:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonomous_sensory_meridian_response

And here's a link to a video that aims to explain ASMR:

Hope this helps!

What you said. There's no general consensus tulpamancy can possibly run along, and I have the same mindset when I'm comparing tulpa's reactions to a phonemenon like ASMR to a humans.

I would not like to compare tulpamancing to the placebo effect. It took me 3 months before I could make myself believe that this whole thing was legit. What I'm trying to say is this: I can't tell the difference apart if I start comparing an autonomous being to a being that has came from a placebo effect. It is an automatic de-legitimization for me, and I start doubting immidiately. So please, don't.

The answer to that question would be because of how obscure tulpamancy can be. Like I said before, I try not to think about how this all could be autonomous-hallucination thing, therefore I take a completely different approach, indicating obscurity.

Thanks! :-)

Yay! It's great that you enjoyed it! I suggest the GentleWhispering and MassageASMR channels, those are my two favorites! Have fun with brain climaxes! xD

It's a bit late to tell me to stop, since I have already said that.

I deeply apologize for the inconvenience.

No, it's alright. You actually made some pretty good points about the "Tulpas are more sensitive to sensory input and this can be explained by the placebo effect" topic, I just got a bit upset over the tulpa/autonomous hallucination comparison. Maybe I shoud've said that I am sensitive over that particular subject before all this :D . It's still alright though.

I really don't think people should be so sensitive and skittish about the few of us who follow a hallucinatory non-independently sentient tulpa hypothesis or "placebo tulpa" theories. There aren't that many of us first of all. Second it is a valid hypothesis or viewpoint. Third we are not trying to insult or threaten anyone by thinking that way. Sorry. I just had to speak up. Don't tell us we are not allowed to speak of it on this forum. I am sorry but I resent that. If it so frightening to you, stop posting and stop reading and go do tulpamancy somewhere safe. On this forum you will find me writing about it everywhere.

I cannot stand censorship of thought and ideas in any form I see it.

BTW, are you not in essence agreeing that tulpas are at least partly placebo effect if you are afraid that induced doubt will damage or harm your tulpa somehow?

Mistgod/David, I believe that discussing of the matter furthermore will only cause more distress. That is not our goal. Our goal is to discuss of what may be discussed. You can voice your opinion, but know that it WILL hurt other people. You can try to discuss it, but when I say 'what may be discussed' I mean what we can actually discuss not by the rules but by opinions. And this opinion is one that seems to put a user in distress. You, as a member, need to respect that. When someone says something rude, or conflicting with your beliefs, sure, I understand you wanted to speak up. But, the user openly stated that it bothers them. It would be appreciated for you to stop discussing this matter furthermore, as it will only give you a bad name, and will put someone else into anguish.
