Oh yeah, I hadn't considered how cats respond to petting! That is the ultimate ASMR. Most cats love to be petted and it definitely calms them down and puts them in form of trance or super relaxed state. They do seem to enjoy it enough to call it euphoria I suppose. It seems to have a social bonding element to it, which would be perfect for host and tulpa "bonding."

Besides, Melian loves the term "brain orgasm."

Wait... That's an amazing idea! Using ASMR to bond hosts and tulpas? Why did I never think of that before?

That actually could be used as a tip to develop an already existent bond between a sentient tulpa and their host, too! Hee he, I'll try it myself when I get the chance.

And who doesn't love the term "brain orgasms"?

Blak hates it. Dimitrov is indifferent.

Ah, I'm too tired. I only came here to help.

You mean the term "brain orgasms"?

...Well, who doesn't love that term except Blak and Dimitrov, then?

This is another idea where my initial thought was, "it happens to normal humans, so it makes sense for it to happen to tulpas." But, thinking about it a bit, it isn't a tactile stimulus that causes it, but rather an odd hybrid of external and internal stimulus. It almost seems similar to how people can only be tickled by other people.

Can a tulpa possess only one arm and tickle the host, or will it not work like as if the host was tickling themself? If the host gets punched in the arm while the tulpa is not possessing, will the tulpa feel it? Will the host feel it when switched with the tulpa? And then back to the topic of the thread, under which combinations of switching, possession, etc. will the host and/or tulpa experience ASMR?

All of this ties into the nature of the physical brain and how consciousness arises from it. Hell, people with different theories on how tulpas operate (which has a strong affect on how their own tulpa works) seem like they would have different answers to these questions. Maybe someone should make a Research thread to document tests on this sort of thing, along with survey questions attached to each response to see if the host's idea of what a tulpa is will impact their response.

Cool! :-)

Melian: Totally.

Troy: I have little but distain for the word "orgasm" in general.

Melian: That's okay, I have enough enthusiasm for orgasms to make up fer you buster.

The interesting thing I would like to point out is that Melian has no real physical body. Her orgasms to date have all been imaginary orgasms in the Melian Show. Her only experience with real orgasms is through my memory of what they feel like. Also, that experience is only limited to male orgasms. She has no real idea what a female orgasm actually feels like, even though her form is that of a woman. She can only make her best guess. All that being said, Melian still likes orgasms and has even had some very exotic forms of orgasms, such as an orgasm in her feet caused by a combination of magic water from a stream and Penelope Poopenpeeper's Passion Cream during a foot massage. Basically Melian only has sexuality because my mind wants her to have a sexuality.

That was totally off topic, but fun as hell to talk about.

See my comments above about Melian having no physical body of her own and having to use her imagination to simulate tactile sensations such as orgasms. LOL

I knew this would start to get weirdly trippy. LOL

This is an interesting observation, that the attitudes, opinions and beliefs of the host will shape the nature of the tulpa and how it works. This may very well be true. It would explain a lot.

Maybe someone should make a Research thread to document tests on this sort of thing, along with survey questions attached to each response to see if the host's idea of what a tulpa is will impact their response.

Great suggestion!

I was only extending my thoughts into other areas about how the conscious experience of a tulpa is affected by the physical stimuli the physical body in the real world experiences. Plenty of topics here can naturally lead to discussions on the nature of tulpas (you in particular should know very well about discussion steering in that direction), and that can lead to discussions on the nature of human consciousness in general. Besides "weirdly trippy" isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I like weirdly trippy. I agree it isn't bad.

Oops, I should've explained further I guess, I thought my post was self-explanatory. ASMR is, as far as I can tell, a feeling you get when experiencing very intimate sensations that can vary from crinkling sounds to the sound of hair being brushed. A lot of people experience it when getting their hair cut to some extent, but don't know there's a word for it. https://www.reddit.com/r/asmr or Heather Feather on Youtube for examples.

For newbies, you should know that this isn't some forceful thing that gives you a "brain orgasm" when you hear certain sounds. It's usually something you have to relax and immerse yourself in, which is why haircuts are only so-so because it's hard to totally relax around a stranger. And brain orgasm is definitely not a necessary term. The universal term for reactions to ASMR is "tingles", because that's usually exactly what it is. But it's different for everyone how they feel it, what actually triggers it for them, and unfortunately, if you can even experience it. There are people who just can't at all. But a lot of the time you just need to find something that works for you. Most of the time it's just random sounds, I think the most popular of which being the sound of a cotton swab in your ear. But some people like mouth sounds (oh god, many do not, consider that a last resort), a lot like seeing someone's hair brushed along with hearing it, and then there's a massive spectrum of other things. Just look through a bunch of stuff and see if any of it sounds nice to you, Heather Feather is a good place to start. There are sister subreddits from r/asmr that are more specific.

My tulpas are more sensitive to stimuli in general, so I have to assume they'll react more strongly to ASMR too. Sorry that wasn't clear.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

But "tingles" doesn't sound nearly as fun and cool as "brain orgasm."
