I will not walk on eggshells for another member no. Sorry. I don't have to respect that by staying silent with my opinions. I refuse to do that.

I do respect that to other tulpamancers, the sentience of their tulpa is real for them. I also recognize the possibility that I could be wrong and also the possibility that what others are experiencing is fundamentally different from what I experience with Melian. But I will speak my mind about hypotheses and ideas openly on this forum whenever I wish. Others can write what they want, and so can I.

Well understood, my friend. But initially, the conversation took place between that user and me. I was the one to state that opinion in the first place. I chose to respect that person's position and empathize with them, as I know how tough doubt can be for your average newbie tulpamancer. The discussion took halt, and should remain that way, because when someone gets hurt, it's not a discussion anymore, is it? It's merely a showfest of who can go the furthest, is it not? I appreciate the spirit and ideology you present, Mistgod, but when someone tells you that they are hurt by what you say, you are, as a matter of fact, breaking the rules by keeping on hurting them. It's quite logical too. Someone tells you they're hurt by something? It is logical, to avoid drama and conflicts, to stop. Sometimes, keeping quiet about a certain situation is the best call you can take.

What do you actually earn from all of this? I'm going to tell you what you can gain. Hurting an innocent person, pushing this furthermore, making a giant argument explode, perhaps earning a warning from the moderators. Someone is hurt, you should stop, it is the decent thing to do.

Ah, I'm too tired. I only came here to help.

Wait, hold on. I never said that you weren't allowed to speak about it! Wow. How do I manage to get myself in these kind of situations?

I just happen to be sensitive over the topic myself, that's all! Christ, I never said it is frightening to me, the thing is that I start doubting whenever this topic comes up. I never intended to mean that I want this school of thought to be censored or just completely erased off this site, I just tried to say that I PERSONALLY preferred to not talk about this topic because of the reasons above.

Doubting kills me. It is the reason that I completely abondon my projects and that I've never been able to acquire a proper audience because it takes me about a year to complete a fucking short story. The same thing is also valid for Céleste. I can't stop once I start doubting. I'm risking dissipation here.

And yes, I'm aware of that. I personally choose to ignore it though. ''Ignorance is bliss'', for this particular topic, of course.

Technically you're both derailing this thread right now Evil and Mistgod, so i would love if you guys would get back to the topic of the thread. About the situation: You're both right, and Mistgod you should get rid of your heat right now. Of course you've every right to discuss your view as long as it is relevant to the topic, but SomethingDire merely asked to be gentle about this topic. Nobody silenced your opinion for that matter. She even agreed that Evil brought some legit points. You're reacting as least as sensitive as her (probably a lot more), just for a different reason.

So please get back to topic now.

Tulpa: Alice

Form: Realistic Humanoid/Demonic Creation

She may or may not talk here, depends on her.

Oh god, thank you.

Of freaking course you can! When did you get the idea that I was against this?

SomethingDire,

Thank you for teaching me about something I didn't know about before today. I appreciate it. Sorry about the misunderstanding. NoneFromHell is right, I am over sensitive in the opposite direction.

Actually, I want to do more with ASMR. Melian kids around about serious things. She means it that we are going to try this. Sometimes it is hard for people to understand her because she often says things in a humorous way. But we are actually intrigued with the idea of ASMR. It looks very relaxing at the least.

Oh, it's alright then. I hope you know that I never even implied that you should silence your opinions and that I have the utmost respect for you two elder members.

Actually, I was very surprised when you told us about how you didn't know what ASMR was, it's actually a pretty popular phenomena! There're people with whole channels dedicated to this at Youtube! There are different types of "triggers" that trigger that tingly sense (ASMR) in people out there; with whispering, drawing/doodling, eating and kissing sounds being a few of them. My personal favorites are kissing sounds and whispering sounds with doodling sounds falling just short of them :P .

Lots of people also get triggered from personal attention, so a lot of ASMRists try to combine personal attention with these triggers. There's a lot of other things that can be learned about ASMR, but these things are better understood by the person when they themselves experience it.

Overall, it's pretty interesting. And since it's so interesting, I'd like to get views about ASMR affecting tulpas! :D

My immediate reaction about the physiology and psychology of ASMR is that it may be related to biology and genetics. Humans evolved as primates and primates groom one another. Have you ever noticed how a primate, like a chimpanzee, goes into a form of trance or deeply relaxed state when being groomed by another? I think humans are still wired that way. So soft touching and soft sounds like whispering trigger some pleasure center in the brain that causes us to become very relaxed and feel euphoria. We want to be touched and groomed. If I am right, that would explain why someone brushing your hair would be a trigger.

Now would a tulpa react the same way to the triggers? Or would having a tulpa enhance the experience somehow? Or would ASMR help in forcing, as relaxing you for meditation? I think that is what you are looking for is answers to that. Melian and I are going to try and see what happens.

...I got tingles when started thinking about my hair being brushed XD .

Thanks a lot for that.

Yes, seems that personal attention is a pretty pleasurable thing for us humans and our ancestors. But it's also very relaxing for other species too- my cat starts nodding off when I pet her for more than 3 minutes. :)

Speaking of pets-- there's also pet ASMR. And I can personally say it seems to be legitimate, because whenever I start playing a pet ASMR video, my cat stares at the screen, dead-locked on every movement. And then, about 5 minutes or so later, she magically falls asleep.

ASMR is also pretty amazing from that point of view, meaning it's not only effective on humans but animals too. So, yes, biology and genetics would play a big role in this, I assume.

Oh yeah, I hadn't considered how cats respond to petting! That is the ultimate ASMR. Most cats love to be petted and it definitely calms them down and puts them in form of trance or super relaxed state. They do seem to enjoy it enough to call it euphoria I suppose. It seems to have a social bonding element to it, which would be perfect for host and tulpa "bonding."

Besides, Melian loves the term "brain orgasm."
