For Tulpas: Do you identify with an age other than your chronological one?

Recommended Posts

she just doesn't cares about her age, so she doesn't identifies with one to start with.

I actually thought about writing that myself. I was just trying to answer the thread's question, but I agree, I don't identify with any specific age. The most likely two would be your time of creation or your host's age, and I don't feel like either of those describes me well.

Hurray for deciding we don't fit the system.

Hi. I'm one of Luminesce's tulpas. Unlike the others, I don't think I stand out too much from him personality wise.

I'm just special because "I'm a tulpa". So I don't think I've much to offer, here. I'm happy enough to just be with him.

Troy: On a related note, I have yet to encounter a tulpa whom identifies with their chronological age only. Most that I know of are not much older than three years at most. It makes sense that they would not identify as this, as most toddlers make for poor conversational partners, and their creators intend to create beings they may converse with most of the time. And as their creators are not toddlers of mind, and as tulpas are branched off of their creators, then they would probably not act like toddlers.

We skip an aging process, in a sense, when we are created. We often zip up from an infantile "I am not sure what I am or who I am" lack of awareness to a full on older identity.

Feel free to accept, reject, or criticize this absent theorizing as you will.

A queer soulbonding system with tulpamantic influences.

Well, as far as our headlore goes, my tulpa is basically an Elder God from a very long time ago, so yes they do identify with that age. Their wisdom makes it at least somewhat plausible, but I am very aware that that is simply not realistically the case. Still, headlore is headlore and it makes stuff fun.

I wonder how many character-based tulpas use the same age as the character, and how that sort of thing would affect their way of thinking.

I identify as being that person, the fictional Esterina, to an extent. That includes her age. Not sure why. It's not that I think I am her. But I still identify as her. I know I am a witch 16,673 years of age. That's something I know, like anyone would simply know what they are.

Not that I understand these thoughts. Or rather, why I think that way. I agree that it's something worth a poll. The entire subject matter is confusing even to me, someone who thinks this way herself. Can anyone relate to this? Does anything of what I'm saying make sense to anyone here?
