For Tulpas: Do you identify with an age other than your chronological one?

Recommended Posts

I don't understand, do you mean they choose to think of themselves as having existed longer than they have? Or that they're just physically/mentally older than they are? 'Cus I'd like you to show me a single tulpa that acts its chronological age. I kind of doubt anybody's raised a baby tulpa for two and a half years before it started talking like a baby.

If you meant the latter, then I'd like you to show me a tulpa that doesn't think they're older than they are. (Actually, with some of the older systems with "younger" tulpas, this might actually be a thing. In a few years two of my tulpas might've hit that point, but it seems like they're growing at the same rate as me.)

I couldn't give a true answer for them myself if I tried, anyways. Like, my answer for them is "They don't consider themselves a specific age, though their forms grow older at the same rate as our body". But it'd have to be their own words to know how they actually feel about their age.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

Well, if you, or rather they, don't know what to reply with - honestly, I feel I explained it rather well in the first post.

And you guys can also simply look at the replies thus far to get a rather clear image of what the question means. ;)

Greets,

Yeah that was just me being dumb/picky about the title of the thread, since the only possible answer is "yes". I get the point of the thread, but I can't really respond anyway.

Ugh, it's too early in the morning to be thinking about that. I don't knoooow~!

I really don't think she does either, and I've never thought about it myself. It's hard to say for physical age too since she doesn't have a human form. I'll just say she looks young, but isn't a kid either. 19, 20 in human years?

Mentally is hard to say as well. We're similar in that respect, where I'm 27 but don't think about it and still feel 18 but can handle the responsibilities of being 27.

She's a lot more silly and bubbly than I am but doesn't play petty BS mindgames, and can and knows when to be "real" and mature about things.

I can't decide if she's mentally a teenager with adult tendencies or mentally an adult with teenage tendencies.

It's best to just call me Beany.

Hex will speak in italics, if she decides to.

Age is a weird concept to me. Theoretically I'm a little over six years old. Mentally I'm as old as my host. But when I think about my age, I get a feeling like I haven't been around as long. Maybe six years is right, I just know it's certainly not 20.

If you're asking if I felt like a ten year old when I was created because Flandre is a little girl, no. Though I do feel older now than I did then, and I think I look older too. And I don't consider the fact that Flandre Scarlet is 495 years old to be relevant to me at all.

Hi. I'm one of Luminesce's tulpas. Unlike the others, I don't think I stand out too much from him personality wise.

I'm just special because "I'm a tulpa". So I don't think I've much to offer, here. I'm happy enough to just be with him.

I wonder how many character-based tulpas use the same age as the character, and how that sort of thing would affect their way of thinking.

Might be worth a poll of its own. From what I see of other soulbonds, that's usually how it is with us, at least. That's why I thought my age progression is odd (though I see from this thread that it's not as odd as I'd thought.).

Most soulbonds seem to at least start with their character's ages (Both in form and mind), though some may age or slide from there. Joss has been 17 for 7 years because of this.

Varia: While I'm keeping my appearance the same, I've decided to age with my host and thus be of the same age he is instead of the two and a half years I'd be chronologically.

Alice doesn't feels like commenting, but basically she just doesn't cares about her age, so she doesn't identifies with one to start with.

Tulpa: Alice

Form: Realistic Humanoid/Demonic Creation

She may or may not talk here, depends on her.
