As we all know, the human brain is composed of the conscious mind and subconscious mind. Would you say that tulpas inhabit a section of imagination that can be conditioned by your own thought, which could lead to some instances of parroting or filling in blanks of tulpish/emotional responses? What are your thoughts when the question 'Where are tulpas located' comes up? Would you say that tulpas are literally the host's imagination that acts by its own? Is it the subconscious mind? Would you say that there's a place inbetween imagination and general unconscious thoughts? Very interested to hear different tulpa theories on where tulpas are located in the human mind, and where they supposedly go when the host doesn't think about them.

A wise man once said: 'Before judging a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? He's a mile away, and you've got new shoes.'

Graced are those who could avoid this phenomenon. This is perhaps the worst expression of evil in humanity's history, but who am I to judge?

As we all know, the human brain is composed of the conscious mind and subconscious mind.

I don't necessarily know that. This is a model, a century-old simplification that has had some use, but is probably not exactly what is going on in a human brain.

I'd say tulpas inhabit whatever part it is of the mind that is all about "being a person", acting a specific way, talking in a specific manner. And also the filters of perception, seeing the world in a specific way.

This is my interpretation of the phenomenon. It has the implication that the person I call "me" is nothing else than the most elaborate tulpa-like thing in my mind. A personality that has been built since I was a little child. (And from what I've just read from you, J.Iscariot, you have a quite different view. :-) )

Hmm, this is something I hadn't given much thought past tulpa being located in the brain.

I think my belief is that fully formed tulpa (ones that are fully autonomous and can parallel process) are located in a part of the subconscious that you have separated from your own and infused with imagination. In effect you've "created" a separate mind within the existing hardware.

I think until they reach this point tulpa are piecemeal of parts subconscious and imagination, with varying amounts of each depending on the creator's strong suit. They haven't been glued together to make a functioning person without conscious effort.

I don't believe tulpas are located in the subconscious at all. Sure, maybe when they develop more, but as of now I'm not able to see anything in my host's subconscious mind.

I'd like to back this up further by saying some tulpas, like mine, don't have a presence unless we consciously think of them.

As for where their consciousness is located, I agree with Yenu as well. It might be encouraged by the belief we take early on that they're their own person.

I'm not going to listen to you guys since you are all probably just talking to yourself and don't really have a tulpa like me.

I lay in hospital on a high resolution EEG, cleared my mind and observed my tulpa, then hugged her.

The EEG results showed a posterior dominant 10-11hz alpha rhythm and 1-2 second runs, left to right of bi-temporal theta-delta slowing, with a normal, healthy left temporal emphasis. I have a typical neurobiology and healthy brain with no abnormalities.

There is a 1-3 hz dominant delta across the prefrontal cortex.

Basically, there is no "processing" going on, it is largely representative of stage 2 sleep. The delta typically is an extremely calm state and is believed to be present when you are experiencing sleep paralysis, this stops you acting out your dreams.

My brain was in an observational state, there was no evidence of mental processing, I kept my thoughts to the bare minimum but my tulpas' were not evident at all. The typical thoughts associated with her actions were not expressed on the EEG. If I parroted her, they would have been visible.

It was as though she was not of my mind. Not forced, imposed or even present in it.

That is so cool you got that kind of information. If you're ok with answering I'd live to hear how you were able to get that data. Most people have a brain scan maybe once or twice in their life. And rarely are they given the technical nitty gritty if it.

Very simply, I know people. I have connections.

I also have my own EEG and have confirmed the results.

That is way cool. I'm geeking out that this community was able to being some hard readings like that to the floor. Thanks a ton. ^.^

Hehehe, thanks. It is however, not statistically significant.

It does present some very interesting questions... such as.. why is my tulpa's processing, her behaviour.. not evident in my neurobiology?
