You have any more?

What do you mean exactly? Spooky videos, or ones in that exact format? Because that was the single special video Lucilyn had been planning for like a month now.

You guys can post "spooky" videos here if you want. It's just the general all-purpose Halloween thread for the year.

Walpurgisnacht, on the other hand...

Is it just me, or have like zero of this thread's 40 visitors actually viewed the video? That's pretty harsh.

Lucilyn asked me to tell her how her thread went later, and all I've got is "One avatar changed and maybe 1 view on the video".

Soon it'll be two views and two avatars, I just have to get home… and then actually remember to do it.

Remember the dead.

Halloween here is so "weak".. Some rare shops are decorated, and some people are having a costumed party... But that's about it :(

I love making costumes tho :o

No animosity intended ever

Cora now has her own account ! :D

English isn't our native language, please be indulgent :)

I am a stranger to this Western custom.

I mean, okay, I'm not actually that much of a stranger. I know what people do on Halloween, and also a bit about the history of the whole deal as well. I guess I'm just curious as to.. Eh. I mean, I never experienced it for myself; I'm not sure about what part of the holiday I should be curious about.

Aight, found something to ask. Do any one of you do something significant to celebrate Halloween? Y'know, other than watching scary movies or "feeling the spook" in your bones or.. You get the point. Maybe like going ghost hunting or something?

I'm SomethingDire, and Céleste is my partner in crime.

The large majority of people simply treat it as a time to have fun and "be scared", though most don't do the scared part. Most places get decorated with Halloween themed stuff, lots of pumpkins and some skeletons and stuff. Halloween itself is, in most places, a night where the kids dress up in basically anything-goes costumes and knock on peoples' doors, hold out a bag or something similar (hollow plastic pumpkin basket is common) and say trick or treat. Then you have to give them candy. If you don't want to do that, it's best to make your house rather uninviting looking, ie turn off the lights and such. Usually taken to mean the people at that house are out trick or treating themselves.

There are also various festivities like haunted houses and such, but those are all completely random and not really guaranteed in any one place.

Food-wise, some households might make something like a pie, but generally it's just a candyfest.

The whole thing lasts anywhere from one to two weeks I'd say, but it can differ. Pumpkins go out on porches up to several weeks early sometimes, but really nothing's necessary before the day itself. November has some leftover pumpkins and some old Halloween decorations, but mostly it's just cold. Short time to winter, where in most places the entire month of December is "The Holidays". Of course, stores can be seen selling Christmas-themed merchandise the day after Halloween. Sometimes earlier.

I don't find anything significant about it besides it being fun. It's just fun to participate in and get in the mood.

My grandma thinks Halloween is some satanic holiday, but I've never understood that view really. I've never met anyone who views Halloween as anything other than just a fun celebration to participate in.

Besides trick or treating, Adults often throw parties on Halloween, where people come dressed up in a costume. And when it comes to food, pumpkin and apple based foods are really common, but that's more a general fall theme. I usually go to an apple orchard every year around Halloween, and the Halloween parties I throw usually have lots of apple based food.

Picking pumpkins is a pretty common activity around the time of Halloween as well.

All in all, it's mostly just traditions and nothing significant, or supernatural based if that's what you're asking.
