How do tulpas fit into your religion/belief system?

Not exactly. It sort of seems to be an extension of anthropic principle as a multiverse theory. While I do agree with anthropic principle, and I suppose metaphysical nihilism, they are both theories for explaining alternative universes. I haven't been able to pinpoint any known philosophies for explaining what I believe yet, but I'm sure it exists.

It's difficult to explain my belief system, but the way I say see it, you and I don't really exist. Therefore things like individuality, perception, and even memory are all subjective interpretations of an illusion. From a rational perspective, we're just a complex collection of elements and compounds formed together in the perfect way as to give us the ability to experience the universe. Which means we're not just experiencing the universe, we're subjectively experiencing ourselves. So while a tulpa is simply another illusion, it's consciousness is no less real than yours, or mine.

On the Acid again lucid?

Just kidding, I think I've got a idea of where you're going. I was atheist for a long time but I think I'm turning into a Buddhist. I don't think it conflicts with anything they believe in.

Oh boy. Honestly, I don't really know where I stand on religion. I guess I'm most like an agnostic, but it's more of a "I don't really give a shit" sort of thing. I don't dwell so much on who we are, where we come from and all that. We're here to fart around and have fun. I have no idea if there is one or several God(s), or what happens after we die, but I'd be nice if it where something cool, like fly around in other dimensions or be reborn in some other worlds. But I think that all lifeforms have bodies, brains and a consciousness to run it all. For the latter, most animals and insects just have a basic one, with thoughts like: "Hungry, gotta hunt for food." or "Tired, going to sleep." Some have more complex ones, like dogs, birds, monkeys etc that can understand patterns and solve things.

But we humans have the most complex of them all, we can do all that shit so well, and our brains have so much excess space now, that we can explore, understand, discover, imagine and create things. Including tulpae. I believe that the brain and the environment forms an advanced consciousness, you aren't exactly born with one like that. And if the brain can make one, surely it can make a couple more. Like someone said; it's like a computer with more than one OS. Tulpae are completely sentient and intelligent beings, they shouldn't be a "sin" or whatever. If God thinks that, and sends me to hell for making a tulpa and hanging out with him and having an awesome time - then He's an asshole.

Christ, my religious views are derp.

Tl;dr: No, tulpae does not conflict with my religious views.

As pretty much everyone said, i don't give a fork about it, some times i want to believe in paranormal stuff, some times i don't.

Nice too see so many idontgiveafuck-ists over here.

I kind of do give a fuck, I like to think about this stuff.

Introduction of the concept of tulpae once again flipped my whole beliefs system upside down, and it's always cool when that happens.

Apparantly we all have the ability to create sentience and our own reality inside our mind. So for that matter our entire universe could be a 'dream' of something bigger.

A depressing thought? To me, not really. I do believe there's one benevolent cosmic force from which we're all components. Reality is probabely just something silly, something to fool around in, reach enlightenment with or whatever. But I believe this force is everywhere and allcompassing.

I also go by the theory that when you create a tulpa, it's a being you've assemble out of components of this 'force', to exist within your own personal reality.

Lastly, I think a religious person may create a tulpa-like entity of their image of 'God'. But the true allcompassing 'force' may be able to use these (collective?) tulpae to actually speak to us.

The Everett interpretation of Quantum Theory?

I(non-denom Christian) believe that if anything God is happy with it. Tulpae help you in positive ways, they can be your reaffirming voice, etc.

I'm pretty much agnostic myself - though more because i don't like having clear, definite answers about stuff, rather than lack of interest on the subject. I think what little i "believe" in is pretty difficult to explain in words, but i'll try.

About God, well, i'd say God is both a human construct and a reality created by humans, if that makes any sense. A thoughtform which sustains itself by means of collective belief, maybe, but lacking actual power over physical reality. Many Gods have been created, and none of them has ever successfully interacted with the world.

This is because the power to become God is found by going deeper inside oneself, and this is what humanity is doing right now - interacting with each other, "knowing itself" as it goes, unconsciously doing internal selection, slowly progressing towards some sort of perfect being. Without being restrained by outside forces placed above oneself for fear of the unknown, but instead becoming them, slowly bringing the unconscious ideals into consciousness.

Said "perfection" is defined by the world we already can see inside our minds, which is what every human being searches for in the outside world, usually without having a clue about its real origin.

Yeah, basically, tulpae could be the gods of a new world or something? Not quite, i'd say. At least not now. But you never know, maybe it's about time to let them take over or something. Also to note that i'll probably change my mind about this in a few hours (i really wouldn't want to stick to a single set of beliefs or anything, you know), but i thought i'd share just because i find it cool - and randomly believing in cool things is often the cool thing to do.

I'm agnostic (don't really care, but sometimes enjoy thinking about it for fun), and afaik so is Glass, so I'd say she fits like a glove
