Hello.

First off, sorry for requiring help and sorry if this was covered elsewhere - I couldn't find anything on it with any of the key terms I thought of.

So... I have this chunk of time (more than two hours every day) in which I can't really do much, but are somewhat full of interruptions. Those are my daily bus trips (about 1:20 to get there, about 1:20 to get back).

I couldn't find anything on this, but... Would tulpa forcing during these trips be harmful to my tulpa? I mean, I can perfectly expect it not being ideal and there not being as much progress as when done in a better place, but does it cause harm, rather than "less good"? I'd like to use this time, together with scheduled tulpa forcing at home, of course, mostly because these 2+ hours are "lost". Turning them into something useful would be good, also nice to speed up long process. I'm asking because I just wouldn't be able to live with myself if this were to make it a horrible experience for her.

I do have a pretty good pair of earphones, so I could easily play a song (or a tone) and isolate myself from noise (very little gets through, even if there's nothing playing). Most of the interruptions would be me having to move away for someone to get through or the bus switches (of which there are two). So I might have to stop forcing for a few seconds every few minutes.

Another thing, if I may... How do you all go about your forcing sessions? I find that I tend to get whatever was the objective done way too fast. Like yesterday, I was already a bit scared of running out of things to say, so I decided to tell her my whole life's story... ..... It took less than half an hour. I don't know if it was way too compressed or if time was going way too slowly inside my head, but one or both happened.

Same thing keeps happening on form and on personality: it feels like I'm going way too fast over all the important things, then the only thing left to do is either repeat myself or say nothing.

I've been trying to make up for that by imagining her with me during most of the day, just sitting on my shoulder and watching. Sometimes I try narrating, too. But I've never been good at talking a lot without saying anything (introvert), so it's not being easy.

First session did have a lot to talk and do, so it took one hour easily, but it seems to be getting progressively harder to find work to do.

Thank you for your time.

It wouldn't be harmful. I force on the subway, which is a 20 minute ride. I've had some productive sessions there. If you have trouble focusing on the bus because of all the noise, get some noise-isolating earbuds and an MP3 player.

If you run out of things to do in a session, ramble about everything and nothing, just chill together, or go on a wonderland adventure. Adventures work best if you can visualize stuff decently without knowing first exactly what will be there. But even if you have to design each place, it can still be fun for your tulpa; though for you it will be more like playing a levelset you designed. Sitting on the beach listening to music together and running a lightshow in the sky in time to it is also fun.

Got it! And I do have noise isolation on my phones, so if that was the worst part of it all, it's going to be just fine.

Thank you.

If you're intending to impose your tulpa in the future then any session in a public place like this could only be helpful to you. If you can learn to focus on your tulpa with distractions around then imagine how good your focus will be when you are somewhere quiet. Also know that you can work on your tulpa outside of any sessions you specify, many people try to have their tulpa present all the time.

Try keeping your tulpa persistent through the distractions. When you have to get up have your tulpa get up with you and follow you off the bus.

Also, you don't have to use a wonderland. It might be easier to focus without it while you're on the bus. Instead put your tulpa somewhere close by and focus only on it.

Like Chupi said, ramble about everything and nothing. I'd also like to add that you can ramble about your actual surroundings. Look at what is going on outside the window. Ask your tulpa what it thinks of the other passengers.

Any time you spend with your tulpa is helpful. Unless you specifically set out to make the time harmful it won't be. Good luck.

I have rambled many times about our next rambling session and how long I can continue rambling before I know I'll have to stop. It just proves that you can ramble about anything as long as you direct it towards your tulpa.

They might get bored after a while though.

Bored tulpa is not such a terrible thing. Better to ramble about nothing than to not say anything. Boring is fine; chances are your tulpa is fairly happy just listening to your voice.

So! Attempted it today and it went pretty well! Visualization was pretty much null, but lots of talking going on. Just seemed easier when going to rather than coming back, but that might have been just the extra distractions that were present later.

The rambling tips also helped a lot! As did the wonderlands adventures idea. It's been a lot easier to manage at least 30 minutes sessions without going out of things to do and say. I hope she wasn't too bored :P The only thing she has been doing so far is send a kind of Disapproval Wave, and since she didn't do it since I started rambling...

Thank you for the help, everyone!

If anything, they might become vocal just to tell you to shut up.

When Shai wasn't yet audible, I told her EVERYTHING I remembered about the day. I could talk for 1,5 to 2 hours just about one day if I told all the details I could remember (all the intersections I drove and how I felt at a certain time), and when I was creating her personality, I just narrated it to her.

[The amount of Oni's narration was insane and it helped me a lot. If you can talk about something, you should talk about everything. -Shai]
