Will writing out her personality affect the creation process?

Ok guys. I come to you for some advice. I have been interested in forming a tulpa for some time now. Probably over a year ago I first heard of them but not by name. So in the past couple weeks I've been doing research on the creation process and am almost ready to begin. I've tried pushing any idea of form and personality from my head so i may start from scratch. No preformed notions. For the personality building phase, has anyone ever tried writing it down before hand? Describing in detail what it is you're trying to create so that when the time gets omes you won't forget anything. I know not to create it in the form of anyone already existing as it can stifle development of the tulpa as it tries to grow on its own, but that's the same issue that makes me wary to write anything down; that by writing it down im forming a set of static expectations that the tulpa thinks it must live up to. I could try burning the paper when im done with it, try to symbolically rid the tulpa of any obligation. Thinking is much easier when im writing or conversing and i want to be as thorough as possible but i also dont want to create any problems down the road.

Just do a little of both; write down just a few traits and some other shit for the tulpa to deviate from. That's what I do. Some people are way more detailed, though.

Some people do get extremely detailed when they write their traits down; I took the more lax approach on that front and made a few traits for the tulpa to develop more from.

thanks for the input. I think im going to begin defining her on paper, if only to create a rough draft of her personality. Im sure when i begin to force the traits things will change and work themselves together, but i personally like having a strong jump off point. Im confident in my ability to adapt to what my tulpa wishes to become, i just wanted to see if anyone experienced any problems with writing it out before beginning the creation process.

I think I went a little too detailed with my personality. I haven't started yet, but yesterday I finished a personality tree starting with 4 major traits that then branch off into related traits, those related traits branch off into traits related to that one, etc. until I had 28 traits covered. I then made a graph a few hours ago of 28 likes and 28 dislikes. I made the likes/dislikes pretty specific so that it allows room for her to develop her own opinions on certain things.

All together I've got 82 traits I have to cover. If I spend 15 minutes per 82 traits I'm going to end up with exactly 20 hours and 30 minutes of work on the personality, which seems to be a little over the top, but still feasible. I'd recommend just making a few traits as guidelines and letting them develop from there.

I did a full 65 page write-up on Lauren's personality as a framework to define her traits and give her a wide range in which to deviate, and then was more lax when it came to actual forcing. Basically, I defined the full range of what a given trait means on a social, personal, philosophical, and emotional level, how different traits interrelate with one another, the causes of each trait, and basically gave her a full understanding of what the trait means, but allowed the personal meaning of the trait to force organically for her. So, for creative, I'd give the full scope of all that creativity can mean, but let it take on a more narrow, more personal place in her own personality.

But yeah, long story short, writing things out doesn't seem to negatively affect development at all.

Shit, now I feel like a massive underachiever. If this were a class, I think everyone would hate you for skewing the grading curve.

But since this isn't a class, good job on that amount of detail, so long as it works for you.

Imagine how I feel when it took me something like four or five months to write out the fifty page script to the indie game I'm working on and have had bridges burned on contract content-writing work where website owners have gotten pissed at me for taking too long on articles that are a few pages long but suddenly I yank out a 65 page detailed write-up in a few days. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with this bar I've set for myself either.
