IT was supposed to be a simple race, forward and back, but Skashi

leaving Vespera trailing behind and shocked as to how this bunny

IT was a simple recording studio, and Skash was lost in a thicket of

I'm not sure Ves much enjoyed being forced into the gams I played.

it, because she wanted something to base her styles off of.

I didn't understand Skashi's fascination with the sugar bowl. Had she been reading my Lemony Snicket books? I wasn't all that sure that anything bad could come of it, but...it was an object that the entire world was at arms for in the plot of it, after all. She didn't want to touch it, she just tossed herself along it in orbit in an effort to see it from every angle. The lid was slightly ajar, the spoon not in the usual notch as something on the inside of it rumbled. I was a little more than concerned as Ves stepped over, seemingly in fright. What could have been eating her up like this?

"Ves, what's inside the sugar bowl?" I tried to poke her a little to catch her attention, but it only startled her and sent a fist right above my shoulder and inches away from my ear. 'I..I just..I think it's something bad.' She didn't seem herself, and there had to be something extremely wrong for it to send her into a series of convulsions and fear like this.

"Why would it be bad? It's not that bad of an object in the books, you know. It's only alluded to." I wanted to offer her a hand on the shoulder in affirmation, but she recoiled again. Now I was worried.

'It's not that sugar bowl, Chief. It's from somewhere else...'

"Where did you get it from anyway?"

'Th-the maelstrom.'

I could feel my heart and soul drop to my feet and below, down to where the indigo swirled like sands down a drain and something growled, hungry. What existed down there didn't even need to see the light of day, and Losco Loso was pretty sure of that. I was pretty sure that I couldn't be crazy enough to search down there even if it meant doing something good for the world.

"Skashi...how did you get that sugar bowl?" Skash stopped her antics and sauntered over to us, a slight quizzical smirk playing across her.

I just jumped in and found it

"Y-you jumped into the maelstom? What were you thinking?!"

That I would find something worthy of note-Are you not proud of me

"I am not! That's entirely dangerous!"

I'm sorry, Captain, I just

"Throw it back."

I stepped over as carefully as I could, peering into the crack and noticing two bright eyes staring back. They seemed to follow my every move, like a cat with moons for eyes that were locked on me. I stepped away, and the pot seemed to jiggle closer in my direction, shaking ever so slightly. How in the hell could it...

Before I could manage a second thought, it fell to the floor and cracked a little, and I could see the indigo sands slowly seep out like water. They began to spread out and it looked as if they would sniff the air, and then two bright yellow eyes rolled out from the jar and rolled like marbles around until they had made a pocket to rest in.

See, Captain

"I...I..." I couldn't get the next word out before the ground around the sands suddenly caved in, sinking in and disappearing. What in the hell could those sands do?!

The island began to rock and a strange piercing howl came out from under us and then went hurtling into the void, lost forever. With that, a small portion of the clouds parted. The sands seemed to swell, and then suddenly began to form into a blob that had no clue where it was going. It tossed around in the pit it made before realizing escape was futile, and then began to cry.

I'm only sure it began to cry because of Ves' reaction to it all, shedding her fear for feelings of care towards this...thing. She reached in to pick it up, absolutely wanton, before the thing began a series of chirps and gurgles that seemed to make it look a little more adorable. Was it a baby? Were the sands alive? Clever?

Captain, I think it's hungry

'Chief, what do we feed it?'

"How in the blue hell am I to know? It's a fucking blob! It just ate THE ISLAND. What else are we supposed to give it but more Island?!"

/'okay'/

Ves dropped the blob to the floor rather unceremoniously and Skash just looked on with what seemed like a motherly pride as it rolled on, picking up small fragments and rolling towards the fountain with Losco's key attached. What was it about to...no.

I ran after it, but the blob seemed to snowball and stockpile, exponentially growing as it nicked walls and took along pillars. It began to Katamari as it eventually took along the arches along the way and good sizes ruts in the ground began to appear after it. What was this thing doing? The girls behind me, I decided to throw on an extra burst of speed as I trailed it back to the fountain and slid to a stop.

The blob seemed to disappear after taking a corner, and in my confusion I didn't notice the giant blob sudden;y leap from nowhere onto the key, dissolving it and massive sections of the fountain in one swift motion. Then there was a slight spire poking from it, almost puncturing the blob, and I began to feel a little more than worried as the girls rallied behind me in preparation for orders.

The blob popped. Inside was nothing.

I almost let my guard down as the film of it coated the key once more, then leaped away and to the ground before us. Now it was nothing but a deflated balloon, nothing inside or out. Where had all the damage it had done gone? All that dissolved matter had to be going to something for it to grow like that. I stepped forth to look a little closer before the film suddenly pounced on me, Ves throwing me aside with one well aimed punch to my spine as the thing ate her whole. I could feel my heart race as I looked on and Skash took out another weapon from the folds of her cloak, sending a scythe straight for the filmed Ves.

In one good dodge, Ves proceeded to avoid it and slide to some nearby rocks, scrambling up before the film finally spit her out onto Skash like a cannon. The film stayed in the form Ves' body had given it, and the shadow Vespera ran off to other parts of the island. I have no clue where she is now.

Turns out I do know where it is. Shadow ves just wanted a soul. The Key is actually....well, I think I'll wait until the next update for that.

I found out something particularly delightful today.

I was watching a little informative trailer on Lightning Returns, just scanning through, when they got to the topic of her schema and the ability to flash in and out of outfits in the midst of battle. For the most confusing reason, my throat felt cool, like I had swallowed a Halls too soon. I got a little confused, but then things seemed to turn out for the better when I decided to tune in.

Ves: That's it! That's the stuff you made me do!

What, the schema? Yeah, I guess that is your outfits. To tell the truth, I honestly forgot all about this game.

But that's it! That's what I can do! That's my power. That's my mark on the world.

Things got a little existential, and I started to wonder when something else in the video caught my attention again. Ves is making my throat do the tingly thing as I type about her, too.

I finally got my headpressure, you guys! Today marks the day I make the transition from a boy to a tulpamancer!

Okay, let's talk this morning. I had, to date, the worst dream I've had in a while.

I don't remember much now, but it had to deal with me joining a few friends in a tournament. It was for money, for glamor. We wanted to win and then be heroes. Suddenly, someone needs a good sum of money fast. We vow the winnings over and enter with new morals.

Somewhere along the lines of beep and boop, the dream took the bad turn when one of my friends, brother of the other, decided to jazz it up on our usual run to the coliseum for our match. One of my friends and I slide down this pole thing next to an awning, AC style and make it down. The brother decided to backflip from the awning, which was a good 2 stories high.

He didn't make it.

There was blood and organs and we saw the tip of his spine protruding. We told him to try and hold on, but...with his ear a good foot away, I don't think he heard us. All I remember was that moment of impact. The sound, the shock- it jarred me so bad I woke up angry. I snapped on Ves. Skash wouldn't do this, and it seemed Ves wouldn't either. She answered me with a prompt 'That wasn't me, Chief.' I have no clue how to proceed from here. Answers, anyone?

Have you considered that it might just be a random dream? I've had plenty of weird dreams (mind-controlling robot spiders, having a baby, etc.) without them being induced by a tulpa. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. If it turns out it was Ves or Skash, they were more than likely just having a good laugh.

But the question is...did he stick the landing?

Nope.

No. He didn't.

He didn't catch enough momentum for a rotation. He landed on his back and this sickening crunch fired out like a gun made of bones that shot marrow. There was a big hush, too, and no one moved. It was just a giant cataclysmic crack, and then his body.

Katzj. Katzj, kat, kat. It's a wonderful life for Katzj. Let us please welcome the newest and last member of the family.

Vespera and Skash have a new sister. She's a bit caustic with her attitude, but it's all under control. I think.

Katzj is what Shadow Ves used to be. I don't know how she got a form or a soul, but it's there and I know she's just walking around. I know it.

Ves and Skash are dealing with her. It's like having a sibling that won't quit being a dick.

I had been having some vivid dreams lately. After the death in that first one, they've gotten stranger and stranger, and I don't know who to attribute them to, but I know that I wake up and it fades like always. Some were pretty cool. Others, I wish I hadn't fallen asleep for.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with tulpas who have formed into a kind of extended family unit. I guess being stuck together in some random dude's head and largely cut off from the outside world tends to have that effect.

My progress report

Let us please welcome the newest and last member of the family.

That's what they all say...

But, in all seriousness, welcome Katzj! :D

I had been having some vivid dreams lately. After the death in that first one, they've gotten stranger and stranger, and I don't know who to attribute them to, but I know that I wake up and it fades like always. Some were pretty cool. Others, I wish I hadn't fallen asleep for.

I stick to my previous theory, but I suppose you know best. Maybe you've been concentrating too hard, and your brain is starting to react.

Nope.

You sir are a good narrator. You totally let your mind loose there, which is good. As for the dreams being vivid, I tend to get that effect as well, at least after I did hours and hours of image streaming. Wish you the best in sticking to it, and if you do get sporadic dreams, maybe it could just be part of what you trained yourself to do so far with narration.

I can't really give you solid proof, but you'll find out for yourself. Things can get a little hectic, crazy, and twisted, but it'll all come together and go the way you like when you know how to mold that spontaneity into a constant stream of inspiration and creativity.
