If I could hug a celestial body similar to your choice it would be the moon. Because the moon isn't a planet, but neither is Pluto. But I won't tell if you won't tell.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

OH I like the moon second bestest I think! Yeppers! It is so pretty and people walked on it too. Oh and my favorite character in Harry Potter is Luna! Pluto is a dwarf planet, which is much cuter than a regular old boring old normal planet and stuff!

As for my new "taboo subject" of not criticizing the forum itself, I was trying. But sometimes I just can't help it. When I have been told in the past I am "toxic cancer" for thinking out loud in this forum, it just eats at me. This forum could use a few more tumors like me really. The whole damn thing is too biased.

How in the fucking hell can my opinions be toxic in a supposed scientific debate forum?

OH wait, I know why, they are a negative effective filter to BELIEF SYSTEMS.

Hi, before I leave this forum for the night I just wanted to say I like the ideas you bring to the table. :) (insert chirping crickets here)

At least I have real ideas and thoughts that are my own. I think many people just read the guides and decide they must be totally true. It's the internet! It must be so true! A couple of hippie nerds wrote the original guides, and then one of them apparently decided it was all bullshit after all and left.

Sorry about earlier, I had a moment of weakness! I return to my new plan! I can do it this time!

Taboo subject from now on (again):

1. The nature of a tulpa (real vs illusory).

2. Personality conflicts and criticism of other members of the forum.

3. Criticism of the forum itself.

Also, I need to live and let live and respect others having their own beliefs. I can so do this!! I really want to I swear to the gods!

I was noticing you were a little more caustic than usual XD

I need to take deep breaths before going online and think happy thoughts.

People in the IRC chat are finally, finally beginning to understand Melian. Someone distracted her with a video of Babymetal. She proceeded to demand she and I watch all the other Babymetal videos and download the music. An hour later she had forgotten completely about shit posting the chat room for attention. Nice moves guys!

According to the Tulpa Info homepage, “The purpose of this site is to provide information about tulpas, to guide tulpa creation, and to host a community for discussion and research of the phenomenon.”

To me, “a community” would mean more than just providing guidance and assistance in creating a tulpa and just doing dullsville progress reports. Creating a community requires that we get to know one another other. To do that, we need to talk about unscientific things like personalities and do fun things too.

For instance, I want to tell you that I like to paint my toenails. I mean not just have my toenails suddenly look painted cause I want it. I mean I have to go through the process of painting each nail and then blowing on my toes to get the stuff to dry. I like the sparkly, glittery kind of toenails the bestest. How is that scientific to tell you that? I don’t know, but somebody scientific out there sometime might find it important that thoughtforms and tulpas do silly things like paint their toenails!

I had my host Davie draw my legs and feets and toenail polish fer you!

Anyways, my poll question: Is socializing and having fun totally detrimental to the core purpose of this site?

There's a place for everything, I think. Sure, we as a community are supposed to maintain a scientific atmosphere, but that's because we ourselves are a source of knowledge. We aren't making robot tulpas to further our scientific knowledge, we're making companions, for the most part. Friends even, a lot of the time, sometimes even significant-others!

In General Discussion, we discuss general tulpa-related subjects. Do tulpas often do stuff for fun, like paint their toenails? Do tulpas sleep? What types of forcing are the most productive? The Research section is for conducting and discussing research done to study the nature of tulpas. In the Guides section, we compile the knowledge we've gained from the rest of the forum and our own experiences in an orderly way to help newcomers. Q&A is for asking questions you couldn't find answers to in the Guides. Metaphysics is for discussing stuff related to tulpas that would not be well received by strictly science-minded individuals, mostly because a large part of our community has come from places like that. And Lounge is exclusively for maintaining the community aspect, like a teacher's break room. With vending machines and TV. And of course, there's the personal blog space of Progress Reports, for those that need a more social aspect to their tulpa journey, or that think their progress may be of some value to others.

I honestly think the forum itself is fine as it is. Use of the forum on the members' behalf could always be better (or worse), due to human nature and the random people who find their way here at any particular time. I think fun topics like "What do you and your tulpas do for fun in the wonderland?" and science-y ones like "Do tulpas seem to gain any benefit from sleeping?" work fine with each other. It's not like you don't know what the thread is about from the topic. We take a scientific approach to tulpas for the sake of sharing knowledge in the most universal way we can, but there's also a lot more to tulpas than strict logic. People want to know if tulpas can be fun-loving creatures (or if they can turn into monsters.. that's a popular one). People want to know if there's any logical explanation for the existence of tulpas. People want to know what they can do with their tulpas, for fun or for their development, and the extents of what they can do.

This is a place of learning; treat it as such. But just like how a library has books on how to do paper mache, poetry, and adventures in fictional worlds, our forum discusses topics of a less critical nature. We cover all the aspects of tulpa creation, all the important questions people have about the nature of tulpas, and accounts of personal experience with those who already have them. And we cover fun things to do with tulpas, less extremely-important-need-to-know questions like whether tulpas are receptive to hugs, and even the interests and opinions of tulpas themselves.

I see nothing wrong with how the forum is set up. People just have lots of different expectations and goals, and they don't see such a wide variety of peoples' interests in tulpas as conducive toward achieving those goals. Some want to analyze brainwaves and conduct large-scale studies; some want to document all the different subjective ways of creating tulpas, with symbolism or metaphysical connotations; some just want to have fun. Some of us are just here to teach others, too. All I can say is that if you think your preferred area is lacking, you have the responsibility to change it. Not enough strict research going on? Start some projects! No one's asking the important questions, like "Does anyone else paint their toe nails"? Ask them! Not seeing enough satisfactory answers to the constant influx of questions? please Answer them yourself!

You can ask for help, but you can't just tell others to do it for you. And you can ask others not to interfere, but you can't make them leave. There's a place for everything here, even if that place is a single topic right next to others of conflicting interest. We're here to help others and help each other, remember that. Anything someone could want to know is worth exploring, in moderation. Obviously more attention should be given to the more critical aspects of tulpamancy (I still like this word, it's fun if not entirely accurate to the practice of the phenomenon), but there's room enough for the less critical parts too. Just try and get along with those working for either side, because you're all contributing to a greater whole.
