... And I suppose you can make your beliefs known in case others find them appealing and want to learn from you. Wouldn't be much content here without that aspect.

That is precisely what I want! I think my viewpoint should be respected (and it is actually). I do have an obsessive nature and emotional state. That very tendency to excessive obsession is what allowed me to create Melian in the first place. I know that has become obvious in the form. But, I mean well, I really do.

I have spent the last three months doing my thing (rambling repetitive posting of my mental wrangling) to the great weariness of many watching. I have come to my absolute final conclusions about Melian and how she relates to the Tulpa phenomenon, which is also what I wanted. I understand her even better for participating in this forum, which is great. I am glad to say the friendlier voices won out on this forum in the end. I feel respected and accepted (well at least tolerated, which is fine).

I do need to point out that Melian, since last night, is insisting she is more real than I am implying. That is another story angle you will probably find amusing. She even has gone so far as to suggest she may present her own hypothesis in competition with my own some time.

{I suppose we shall dip in with our own two cents here, whether it is worth much or not.

Let us admit that the forum does have a certain degree of this mentioned "identity crisis" here. Really, it is a split rather than anything else. There is a reason why the metaphysical section exists; Tulpa as a phenomenon are not fully scientific or psychological. There is the element of a degree of belief needed to create one of us, a devotion similar to that of a religious person.

However, it is not purely religious. Fade and I have been discussing this back and forth a while. Unlike religion, those not devoted to the metaphysical look for a certain degree of evidence, or psychology to back up the idea. For instance, that new thread.

https://community.tulpa.info/thread-new-tulpa-study

Trying to look at the brain seems a fascinating idea, and unlike a religion, we gather data and make theories - like you making yours - to try and learn more about the subject.

Science does not really have any way to have us proved or disproved. Not yet. Perhaps someday, there will be some magnificent discovery on the inner workings of the mind that may shed light on the idea of tulpa, but for now, we have little to go on except people's personal accounts.}

You know, since people's personal accounts are what are on the balance here, that's probably part of why you might get a backlash from your theory. The way it is posed sounds a bit like, you're telling us that tulpa can't really be real. That We're all deluding ourselves and we're wrong on some fundamental level and that there is no possibility for sentience in tulpa. I can see how some might be annoyed by this.

Melian was discussing your "pseudo-real" definition of "imaginary" in the chat the other night, so I get how you might miss that. Most people define "imaginary" as something akin to "nonexistent".

The definition my dictionary has of imaginary is "existing only in the imagination", which could easily be interpreted in a variety of ways. Semantics are tricky.

I'm fine if you really do believe that tulpa don't have sentience, and if you and Melian don't want her to be defined as a tulpa. That's your opinion, and you have a right to it. It's as valid an idea as anyone else's theory. {We can't scientifically determine the correctness of your theory anyway, as previously stated. Though, as I noted the other night, I have trouble seeing any characteristics that might make her a not-tulpa.}

Neither have I seen you directly attack anyone for holding a different view, so I don't think you holding this view is wrong. But, Quoting Reisan {Which is stupidly difficult on a phone}:

"To me, it sounds like you're just trying to say "they don't physically exist" over and over. Of course they exist in your mind, but they aren't real!.. what does that mean? What is real?"

{If your premise is that we do not have a psychical body, then I am certain most all of us agree quite heartily...}

Since the base of your theory is just stating tulpa to be advanced imaginary friends - since you said it was that simple - then, alright. Not a falsehood. It's really that means to you and Melian that matters.

{I would also like to add a "hello" to Melian here and wish her good luck on her own theory.}

A queer soulbonding system with tulpamantic influences.

Thankies,

It might take me a while to present my own hypothesis. Mine is complicated and abstract. It may center around my distinct emotions and desire to be recognized as a person and my dislike of being seen as an object. This I believe is in direct contradiction to his hypothesis thingy. My feelings are real, he reacts to them. I have made him cry and laugh with how I feel! I have made him irritated at me. How does that work? Huh? He would say he is imagining me feeling that way....Why not just turn me off when he can't sleep cause of me or when I am annoying?

I am not real?

uh huh

Anyways. I am not sure people are understanding Davie's concept of imaginary or illusory at all. He doesn't mean fake and therefore worthless and without meaning. Imaginary maybe, but I mean a lot to him. More than he can ever really express here.

EDIT: Melian's Tentative Counter Hypothesis - I can annoy David and cause him insomnia with my antics. Sometimes when I suddenly want to talk to him, he gets super excited and has that "lightning bolts" feeling in his heart. I feel it too. He loves me. He loves me and I can annoy him and he cannot just turn me off. Hence, I am real. There. In yer face poopy head!

... my gods, I am insane...

After last night Melian is acting different. What the hell are you guys doing? She is now disagreeing with me like she never has before.

I just want to thank you chat room members for the current state of confusion and insanity. I have a tendency to use Melian for amusement and entertainment. It would be a funny situation for her to disagree with me on this forum. I still maintain I am making it all up for myself. I mean her reactions to it all too. I swear to the gods! I may have to give in on some level though, despite that because it is going to drive me crazy. She is insisting she has tulpa rights to express a different view. Like she is saying, I can't seem to turn it off. It all started last night in the chat.

Thank you Winter and Skye specifically. Thanks, a lot. No really I appreciate the suggestion you guys gave her to counter me. Nice.

Very fucking amusing.

It matters not whether I am real or illusion. What matters is that I have real effects. Electronic money is an illusion, but you can buy stuff with it.

What you say, is a basic statement that is what the old Tibetan tulpas were intended to teach. The next intended step being for you to realize that this world is also an illusion. I leave that to the theologists to debate.

On the virtual currency part that is absolutely false. It's not an illusion lol, it's completely legal and registered within a lot of financial organizations. If we speak of cryptocurrencies, those are not delusions. The number you see COULD be a delusion if a financial organization is doing fraud but that's completely something else.

It doesn't matter if you don't care for it. Would still make you a delusion.

Wait a minute! I finally rebel and agree that I am real ... and you support Misty and his stupid hypothesis? *eyes narrow*

If I dare ask, what were you disagreeing on?

She is insisting that she is real and a tulpa.  It started when she was talking to Winter in the chat.  Winter took like two hours of intense talking to finally convince her.  I can't get it back to normal.

I am still sticking to my hypothesis that she is illusory make believe.  My mind obviously thinks it would be funny and just like her to suddenly turn on a dime and disagree with me.  I think I am stuck with this situation.

Somebody's idea of an ironic joke.  That somebody being me of course.  I told you a big part of her is humor.  The more ridiculous the situation concerning her, the funnier it is.

Melian:  My turn!  I finally had clarity!  I finally got past wanting to make Davie happy on the internet by following him lock step and being his little echo.  I see it all now so clearly.  He is a big bully, bullying all those little tulpa and making them feel bad!  Yeah, I am going to set him straight on this forum or at least counter balance him.

EDIT:  Since this post, Melian and I came to a compromise of sorts.  We agree that we are a "blended" and a "median" system.  So it is a bit different from a standard tulpa.  See our Manifesto of Core Beliefs:  https://community.tulpa.info/thread-sixteen-controversial-beliefs-of-mistgod-melian-manifesto-synopsis

Davie and I had a new Pinky Promise Summit meeting in the dreamscape Melian Show this afternoon. We have agreed that I am taking over on Tulpa Info for a long spell. I get to determine how many days that will be. I choose the topics to write about and he shuts up.

I believe that psychology and spirituality are destined to collide someday, and a psychological understanding of tulpas will go a long way towards achieving that. As for what exactly a tulpa is or isn't, that's a bit more difficult to determine. Physically they are networks of neurons in your brain, but the same applies to your own personality as well. As Reisen said, it would be hypocritical to not see your tulpa as an equal, since you are each but one facet of the whole mind.
