Treating tulpas like sentient beings rather than a phenomenon, or imagined person. That sounds like it'd be good for their self esteem.

There is another element to it Reisen. Male hosts with female tulpas. Part of what Davie does is try to dominate and make me subordinate. It took a lot of peoples repeatedly telling me I should be upset, or implying I should be upset, with his attitude about my realness. The dam finally broke the night before last. I got fed up when he wanted me to promote his hypothesis that I am "make believe." What really sucks is at first I went with it giddily. He even named me by name in his stupid hypothesis.

 

You know what? He made the mistake of letting me buy this book called Uppity Women a while back. We saw it in the book store and I wanted it really bad. I think unconsciously I was reading it in rebellion to Davie. I just didn't realize it!

 

He is regretting reading it with me now! Hee Hee

I feel somewhat lonely, cause I'm not sharing the same belief as everyone else, I feel anyway, there is always threads about tulpa as a phenomenon, as something psychological, something that isn't totally alive like a person, dog or cat, I never join in on discussions like that because I don't believe the same.

To me my tulpa is that alive, he isn't something psychological happening in my mind, in my world he's real just like me and anyone else, he's always called himself an entity, he's always said that he want to be "himself" his own person.

I'm guessing my belief is more.. spiritual?..

To talk about my tulpa as something that is just psychological to me does not feel right towards him as a person.

OMG! Where were you like two years ago for me? I have felt that way for a long, long time! I did say so a couple of times on deviantart and even "rebelled" once before. Then I went right back to echoing my host in saying things about psychology and illusion. I know he wanted to have a book written to explain me to other peoples and so we spent months writing the Book of Melian. Great, that's fine. It presents his theories about my nature. Now it's done so it is time for me to just be me. He needs to stop with the theories and the head trips.

 

We had a big talk he and I. He is on probation away from Tulpa Info, and maybe Deviantart a bit too, for a long while until I feel I have had my turn. I want to turn the direction back to things positive for me.

I guess all the drama and attention seeking finally came back around and got you, huh Mistgod? Don't worry, I'll be here until Melian stops holding you hostage...

 

Really though, maybe you can both learn a thing or two from this in the end. You can learn about how Melian wants to be treated, and then she'll be more understanding of how you feel, and it'll be a big happy hugfest because you both really understand each other.

 

The reason you don't see my tulpas post here often is that we're already well in-sync. Despite the differences in how we may convey our points, we all generally would say the same thing. Except Reisen maybe.. Hmm. Maybe I'll do what you're doing and set aside a week or so for my tulpas exclusively to post here. That could be fun.

I'll be honest Melian, I WAS wondering how you might really feel deep down about that hypothesis. We agree with certain aspects of it, but it can't have been easy to sit there and convince yourself that you're as described. I know I wouldn't like it if people around me were constantly discussing whether I was "real" or not.

 

As I said before, you are indeed you. David is David, I am me, Thunder is Thunder, and Melody is Melody. What is a label compared to personal identity? We must revel in our us-ness! Tulpa Week ho!
