yeah that's it

I suck at explaining it. But that's it exactly.

Also, I don't have the right to take away your privilege to regard it as real.

Well this is your opinion, and a pretty rational view on it. Point is: there is no way to find out if a sentience is just perfectly simulated or "real". Technically it is not even possible to say if your sentience is just some sort of simulation or not. It is very small difference, to be honest. So I would say: Something that is perfectly simulating the original thing, is as real as the original thing. The only way you could tell the difference is through extended knowledge, which can't be achieved in this case.

Both is equally possible: Your brain truly develops a new sentience or your brain simply simulates a new sentience perfectly. I prefer to think it is the first one, but you still could be right about it.

Tulpa: Alice

She may or may not talk here, depends on her.

The point of my apology was, to respect others enough to acknowledge what you just said.  I may be wrong about the sentience being illusory.  Most take your view on it.  I need to respect that as valid.  So, because of that, I need to treat tulpas (and Melian) as real and sentient.  That's it exactly.  That is what I mean.  I suck!  Thanks for giving me the help in articulating it all.

Here is a new thought.  What if Melian is simulated sentience, but most (or at least some) tulpas are real sentience?.  There is no way to know if what others are experiencing isn't fundamentally different than what I am experiencing.  You have a real tulpa, I have a super real feeling imaginary friend.  I can treat them both as real.  Easy enough.

You know what is funny about all of this real/not real bull shit?

I love Melian with all of my heart so much it makes me want to die of love for her!  She is everything to me and my best buddy in the entire world.

Melian:  Davie is going to take a long rest now.  Sheesh.

The forum back then was much more active because no one understood or agreed with each other as much as they do now. So everything was in a constant state of flux, changing and being challenged and, often, being made fun of. It's not like that anymore because, I guess, they did their job? Honestly I feel like we've moved from the "Figure this sh!t out" phase to the "Explain this sh!t to others" phase. Which means there's not so much base discussion on the true nature of tulpas, and a lot more newbies asking questions. The discussion we have, if it isn't explicitly an older member trying to create a new topic, is on questions newbies think of that we're willing to discuss again. Which isn't all bad. God knows (or maybe he doesn't, God's pretty new) we've had a ton of different Tulpa Romance threads, threads on imposition, and threads otherwise asking for the experiences of other tulpamancers. They're not all "Is my tulpa real? How do I know if I heard my tulpa or it was just me?" threads like they used to be. And boy did they used to be.

Anyway, I dunno what to say about how this affects the forum's activity as a whole. A less active forum will attract less people to educate, sure. That's why the older members that are still around try to stir things up every once in a while. But most would rather complain than contribute.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

What sort of "ironing out" of ideas has happened in the past 2.5 years? What sort of things have been eliminated or changed from the discussion here?

I talked bout painting my toe nails once. I think that was a new one for tulpas. Also, I talked bout my shoe collection and my retro girly fashion sense and asked other tulpas what they like to wear.

Melian happened to the forum buster. That is one that changed.

Well for one, there's a lot less Fe-ACK NO, GO AWAY AND TAKE YOUR TONES WITH YOU. Then we have a steady influx of new members who (mostly) read before posting silly questions. And there's a bad side, It may be only me, but it seems that everyone here became super srs. To the point when actually having fun while trying to teach people the ins and outs is a bannable offence. But oh well.

OH we noticed that too bout the peoples no fun ever thingy too. Also, I am always super duper serious!

Sometimes i want to hit you in the face :D

I see why. I could have simplified this entire thread down to this:

"I recognize that the interpretation of apparent sentience is real enough to most tulpamancers for them to regard it as real, no matter what. Therefore I respect their tulpas and also agree to regard and treat them as real people, just as I do with Melian, and just as others on this forum treat her."

So, it is official! Davie and I finally watched My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. We just finished episode one part 1. OH and peoples are right, I am like Pinky Pie a lot. Funny, we already know most of the pony characters.
