Guest December 20, 2018 December 20, 2018 Once again my terminology fails me. I get visualization, then i get visual hallucination in wonderland, not say across the room irl. This is the lucid dream like states i can achieve. I am imposed in wonderland. Audio, visual, it's with closed eyes and inside the construct of wonderland space. I'm not in my bedroom, i'm in wherever, the visuals and sounds could be across a constructed room. There's visualization, it's good, then there's hallucinations of the scene, the people anything. Imposition because it's a hallucination, inside because it certainly not irl. EDIT: when i'm standing with Misha inside a ruined overgrown temple and she says something, she's there, not irl, but the visual/audio/other is just like lucid dreams or irl, not the 50% stuff. I call that imposition still because i'm not asleep. Idk how else to explain it, it's that kick above visualization and takes zero effort on my part to make it happen, but i can't necessarily make it happen either or for very long consistantly, but in a semi meditative state like hypnogigic, that's what i call 'enhanced'. I can tell this is very frustrating to read because i'm horrible at explaining it, sorry for that Lucilyn.
Lucilyn December 20, 2018 December 20, 2018 well you're probably just using the wrong word, imposition is "imposing your tulpa on reality" by definition y'know, so it applies to real life usually we just call experiencing the wonderland as real "immersion", or you could say hallucinating if you wanna be weird, but you probably shouldn't say imposition if it's not dealing with the real world Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points. I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal! Talk to us? https://community.tulpa.info/thread-ask-lumi-s-tulpas
Guest December 20, 2018 December 20, 2018 Oooooooohhhhh... ok. So... hm is this another one of those scenarios that are untermed? *sigh* Can hallucinations be inside the headspace? Or is that also just visualization? Example: Audio imposition of a tulpa who happens to be inside wonderland, what is that called?
Jamie December 21, 2018 December 21, 2018 Can I name it "wonderland imposition?" The feeling that your wonderland is a real, physical place you could mail a letter to? Imposition, to me, means "imposing into reality", and you can impose things without them being directly sensory. For example, I consider the feeling of presence to be a type of imposition. -J The world is far, the world is wide; the man needs someone by his side. Our Thread
Guest December 21, 2018 December 21, 2018 Agreed. Okay. Any time i've ever said imposition i basically used it improperly. I thought audio hallucination was called audio or auditory imposition regardless of where it was. Same with super good visual hallucination, i mean, my eyes are closed, if it's not my bedroom it's in my head right? True, sometimes i see something out of the corner of my eye, but not a spontaneous beautiful meadow backlit by morning sun and in the distance, the ocean stretches to the horizon. I can imagine that, but sometimes it just appears something like that, and it's a very powerful memory. Is that just a fraction of a lucid dream?
Ember.Vesper December 21, 2018 December 21, 2018 For us, it isn't simply a matter of being inside or outside. There's a continuum. We routinely pull in furniture and other objects from our mindscape, overlaying them into our physical space, partly because it really bothers Vesper that her visualized form is not able to handle physical objects . If there's sunlight in the physical world, Vesper may even pull in walls or a night sky. We sometimes hold hands while walking in different worlds. If any of this bled into physical senses, I would still be inclined to call it imposition. We could use different terms for the physical perception of tulpas and the physical perception of non-physical objects (neuromancy, anyone?), but I'm reasonably sure that both use the same skills and same neural pathways. If multiple headmates are interacting with both the physical world and the mindscape simultaneously, would "imposition" or "immersion" apply? I don't think I entirely understand the rating scale Bear introduced, but I'll give it a go: Reality: 1.0 Lucid dream: 0.6 Normal dream: 0.3 Hypnagogic state: 0.0 Visualization: 0.3 Imposition: 0.0 Reading a novel: 0.8-1.6 Watching a great movie at a theater: 0.7 Roleplaying: 1.2-2.0 I've had some interest in lucid dreams for over thirty years, but they aren't that great. Most of my efforts go to remembering that I'm dreaming and the dream still fights hard against my control. Normal dreams are much worse -- the plot of the story changes every ten seconds. However clear dream memories may be in the first hour of waking, most of them have flitted away a few hours later. If I write them down, I can look back at them a few days later and find them utterly alien and unfamiliar. Hypnagogia is super lame. I get to watch my thoughts slowly unravel into nonsense. Sometimes the nonsense is profound enough to startle me back to consciousness. I can't begin to wrap my head around other people's descriptions of hypnogogic hallucinations. But reading, ah, my first love. I can leave this world behind. And roleplaying, the best part of my life, a more intense and vivid kind of living. I remember both from an in-universe perspective, with richer emotional content than mere reality. -Ember I'm not having fun here anymore, so we've decided to take a bit of a break, starting February 27, 2020. - Ember Ember - Soulbonder, Female, 39 years old, from Georgia, USA . . . . Guest December 21, 2018 December 21, 2018 Very interesting. I'd like you to describe your setup, space, technique? Props? Whay you do when you RP. If you get a chance.
Ember.Vesper December 21, 2018 December 21, 2018 Ember: You... you really want to know? Okay, um, the physical parts are pretty simple, but the technique deserves more extensive treatment. I don't think I can address it in a post or even in a day. Expect a lounge thread in a few days entitled something like, "Psychologically dangerous roleplaying for tulpamancers". This is exciting. I can finally address a bunch of stuff that Vesper made me leave out of our progress report. Vesper: Oh, crap, Bear, what have you started? It's nice to see her passionate, but the scope of what she's considering! I may have to reign her in a bit or it will never get done. You should see Cat coding or working on the Collatz Conjecture. It's mental crack for her sometimes... and the ladder is more interesting to watch than the former believe it or not. Note: I'm hit-or-miss activity-wise on this account. I may not respond to PMs for awhile. I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron. My other headmates have their own account now, but it's outdated and I can't be bothered to update it If I missed seeing your art, please PM/DM me!
