I think this means forcing using symbolic actions, symbolic imaginary objects and visions rather than talking to the tulpa. I think maybe I get it now. Sorry, it is an abstract concept. ~Mistgod

 

As I understand it, it's less a replacement for interaction and more a means to a specific kind of end, usually. There's guides that use symbolism for practically every milestone in the process. Instead of waiting for a skill or state to come naturally, or rather through the process as it usually stands, most of these guides claim to expedite the process with what basically amounts to guided meditation at times.

 

Except the thing is, if you're deadset on using symbolism, it seems to me like you're better off just using your own rather than depending on someone elses, but that's just me.

Actually, that makes a lot of sense. The tulpa after all is a product of your own mind not someone else's. ~Mistgod

I'm trying to do that myself with making up my symbolisms like baking for her personality. The ingredients were her traits and we would blend each one, and build off the other traits. At the end we set the mixture in an oven to allow them to finish baking, this was letting them settle into her. It fits her personality rather well and feels like it works for a personality session.
