Well, you could call me a human, a god, a frog girl, a Touhou character, a tulpa, or a friend. They all mean about as little as the next since really I'm just thoughts. But so are you, and you call yourself human. Depends on what you mean exactly I guess. I'm a tulpa, but I physically exist inside the mind of a human, so in that sense how could I be anything else?

Well said! Hosts and tulpas alike are all just sophisticated chatbot programs running on the advanced piece of hardware called the brain anyways. We figure human brain equals roughly human psyche. If I didn't identify as human, I don't know what else I'd be O_o.

[Tri] Well, the body is as much ours as it is our host's, which is to say it sort of belongs to no one but sort of everyone.

Now, what do we see ourselves as. Well, we do not see ourselves as human and do not have a human form at all, but we do have a human intellect which we do identify with and we can identify with many parts of human life. So, we would say we are part human.

Oddly enough yes, I feel human. Though my form is that of a rabbit, I don't have any animalistic tendencies, and it leaves me feeling like I'm just as human as my host. It's a tad strange.

We gave up on using different colors for each of us, so there's Al, Ollie, and Eva. We're all rabbits, get over it.

This really cuts to the core of the original question. "Do you identify more with your body/host or the form you take in the Wonderland?"

Cool to see the different responses.

That's a pretty good summarization, but it's pure-tulpa-centric. There's a lot of tulpas/non-tulpas that have different beliefs about what they identify as than just form vs. body association. I know that at least many soulbonds have other answers than of those, and a lot of tulpas here aren't 100% scientifically tulpas either, since it's a rather loose term.

But I did mean it was good, that question basically sums up 90% of the thread. Part of the other 10% is semantics on what it means to "be human", since biologically everyone and thoughtform here is human. So are we assuming that's not necessarily true, or just that it is if you think it is and not if not? Lucilyn's post was pretty good, she pointed out that depending on how exactly you ask the question she could be lots of things. I don't see her as a real "god" just because the Touhou character she associates with is one, but we have a slight association in a non-serious manner regardless. And I definitely don't see my tulpas as "biological humans" normally, I just see them as tulpas. I also see them for their ~species again in a non-serious way, with Reisen as a moon rabbit, Tewi as an earth rabbit, Lucilyn as an "earth goddess" but less so than the others, and I actually do consider Flandre just a human in that aspect too.

I suppose the most base of them all is that I see them as tulpas, as far as the forum's concerned. But we ourselves consider ourselves "identities", which is our word for the personality that complements a physical body. Not a very easily describable thing, so we don't try. But see, again, it depends on what you're looking for in that question. "We're all human" seems like the safest one.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

Well, I used to just be a tulpa. I don't know if a tulpa can be a human, since human kinda encompasses the entire system doesn't it?

But since we started switching we've reworked how we all think about ourselves. So yes, I do see myself as human. We're all human as far as I can tell. But do Scarlet and Sylvia count, too? I don't want to continue the semantics stuff, but really human isn't something only one member of a system can be, it's something you all are together.

Hi. I'm one of Luminesce's tulpas. Unlike the others, I don't think I stand out too much from him personality wise.

I'm just special because "I'm a tulpa". So I don't think I've much to offer, here. I'm happy enough to just be with him.

It's more like a sense of belonging. I interact with other people, and I just feel like I'm just as human as everyone else.
