jean-luc September 14, 2016 September 14, 2016 Hooray! I can only assume this means more Melian XP Just don't silence Mistgod completely okay? He says interesting stuff sometimes. Alice: poetic justice at its finest. Solune: *after typing for Alice, researches to confirm that is the correct usage of the term poetic justice. Ehhhhh, kind of...* Alice: close enough for government work. Solune: *researches to confirm that is the correct usage of the phrase. It is. Well played, Alice.* I always have to research it when I find myself using obtuse words that I've heard before but don't quite know the meaning of. Like antidisestablishmentarianism. Okay I've never actually found a use for that but SOME DAY. (IIRC it's a political "side" from history which was against the dis-establishment of the church, or something like that. Hence why "antidisestablish" is different from "establish" in this case) Stats is back: https://stats.jean-luc.org/ I don't visit as often as I used to. tulpa001 September 14, 2016 September 14, 2016 <.< Oh hey, I remember my host making that mistake with that word shortly before I was born. Obtuse -> Obfuscated -> Occult -> Obscure -> Abstruse. Nice try. Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide.
Guest Anonymous September 14, 2016 September 14, 2016 @jean-luc It will mean more Melian and less Mistgod. It will also probably mean some drop in posting as certain subjects will be avoided completely. There will be a huge drop in drama on the board though unless someone else does it. Well, that is the theory. If there is drama at least it won't be about the same old subject over and over again.
Tewi September 14, 2016 September 14, 2016 I always have to research it when I find myself using obtuse words that I've heard before but don't quite know the meaning of. We have easily googled thousands of words over our time on the internet. It's just not in our nature to "kind of know what it means I guess" a word. We're excellent readers (Lumi was the kid in the class always reading much more advanced level books than his peers. You know, in like first through fourth grade, before he started reading fiction. Warriors (the cat books) and then Maximum Ride and such, not super high level), which might be related. Either way, you know when even Lucilyn has the habit of looking up words she's not sure about that we do it often. Personally, I end up writing words that I know through context and then looking them up while proofreading to make sure I said what I meant. 90% of the time I'm almost spot-on on the definition which is nice, 10% of the time I almost say something I would've regret. Some words just.. don't mean quite what we thought they did, somehow. Also yeah, you were looking for "abstruse". Obtuse would usually describe a person having a hard time understanding, or caring to. Hi, I'm Tewi, one of Luminesce's tulpas. I often switch to take care of things for the others. Guest Anonymous September 14, 2016 September 14, 2016 I simply make up my own words when necessary. :-) Yeah I google words too. I like the word "serendipitous." I like it's meaning too! occurring or discovered by chance in a happy or beneficial way.
jean-luc September 14, 2016 September 14, 2016 Let's just pretend the misuse of obtuse was on purpose. Stats is back: https://stats.jean-luc.org/ I don't visit as often as I used to. If you want me to see something, make sure to quote a post of mine or ping me @jean-luc

Guest Anonymous September 16, 2016 September 16, 2016 Actually, the more Davie and I think about this poor man, the sadder it is. At first it was really funny, but then, not so funny. I hope he gets the help he needs to feel happy again and maybe Mr. Happy can get resurrected somehow. This is why I believe in tulpa resurrection right here. Gosh.
