Welp, I asked to have my old Groovy-guru posts and threads merged with my Glitterbutt account and Chupi was happy to assist me with that. So as of today, Mistgod and I have a total combined number of 2,605 posts! Wowy zowy!

Occasionally when Mistgod and I talk about "channeling" me or "method acting" as part of the process of a Living Imagination thoughtform, we get accusations of role playing.  When someone says this they are implying that Mistgod is only deliberately pretending and there really is no Melian.  That is such an oversimplification of everything.  It's unfortunate that tulpamancers sometimes have such a simplistic, black or white view of thoughtforms.  

 

What is really ironic is that tulpmancers sometimes do proxy typing with their tulpas, which is very similar (in our opinion) to the type of channeling Mistgod does with me.  

 

We took a look a the forum rules on this.  There is no specific formal rule, that we can see, against role playing on the forum itself.  There are only rules against outrageous unsupported claims, which in theory would pretty much cover someone who is doing silly pretending and trollish role playing.  In other words the baseless claims and rules against disruption would cover any blatant, problematic role playing.  

 

The IRC has rules against "role playing" which are actually rules against narrating a story if you look at it.  "The #tulpa.info and #tulpa.lounge channels are not for role-playing. Occasional "/me"ing is okay, but full-blown scenarios tend to generate lots of lines that aren't interesting to anyone not involved in it. You can create a temporary channel to use by typing /join #some_name_you_make_up, or use /query PMs if it's just two people."

 

A thoughtform does not have to be a tulpa to be a member of this forum or the IRC chatroom.  Daemons, soulbonds and others are welcome.  So are members of any form of plural system, including fictive median aspects.  Tulpas have the goal of being fully independent of their host.  But not every thoughtform or member of a plural system does.  Some are more connected or blended.  Many daemons specifically are considered an aspect of their creator's mind and not an independent entity or consciousness at all.  They are free to be members on Tulpa Info and associate with tulpas.  Daemons are not generally considered role playing any more than median aspects or members of a plural system are.  Young tulpas that are being proxied are not always totally independent of their host either.  Proxy typing for a young tulpa is not considered role playing.  

 

Why?  What sets deliberate role playing apart from these?

 

It basically comes down to intent and sincerity.  My host sincerely believes I am a thoughtform and a person in my own right.  He really does believe in me as I do in myself.  I mean even if Mistgod is totally delusional and deceiving himself, in our opinion, I would still be a type of thoughtform.  Even some tulpamancers believe their own fully functional tulpas are a form of illusion so what the heck?  

 

I wish people would broaden their minds a little and stop being so basic.   If we are not deliberately pretending then I don't see why we should be getting these condescending accusations from tulpamancers, especially when I am not claiming anymore to be a tulpa.

So last night Mistgod when on the Discord group. It is awkward. We enjoy hearing the voices of other members of the community and communicating in real time. But I can't talk. So I end up going quiet and Mistgod just dictates or tells people what I want to say or the facial expressions I am making. It's just not anything as fun as text for me. I can't really interact and it ends up only Mistgod talking. I mean that's fine and all but... I don't know.

 

It does kindof bring us both out of the day dream though into the real world a bit. That sounds weird I know. But me chatting on the internet really is an extension of the Melian Show day dream fantasy. It's kinda cool to connect by voice and have Mistgod talk in the real world, so to speak. But I am kinda not in that world really if that makes any sense to anyone. I have nothing to do with the physical world.

 

It works channeling me in text onto the internet forums and chat rooms, but it just doesn't work for me any other way. I know others are possessing and switching and all that, but I never will.

 

I think if people want to talk on Discord to Mistgod by audio, I don't want to even be online myself. I want Mistgod to have a separate Discord that has nothing at all to do with me communicating.

I can't really join the discord because my username is Reisen. If I started changing it all the time my friends would be confused/ask me why. I also don't like having discord open because I already have skype and teamspeak open 24/7.

 

Also also, my tulpas would end up speaking while switched. Still not sure how I feel about that. Nobody who knows we switch (you guys and a single friend) has actually talked to them while switched. I prefer it that way.

Interesting post. I respect that you feel that way about it, though my experiences have indicated differently. I think an important thing to consider is the degree to which your tulpa is developed. I would have to reach high levels of development with eve before making a call like that. When I look at the people who spent the longest periods of time really pouring a lot of work into there tulpa, I see less and less doubt. It dosent seem to be a conclusion that the most veteran among us reach. If you want to revisit it I would suggest really plunging in and suspending judgement. The lack of long time high level tulpamancers walking away from the whole thing is what lends it the most credence in my eyes.

 

Not long ago this sort of statement would have raised my ire!  I would have taken major issues with "high levels of development" and "most veteran" and "high level tulpamancers."  I would have taken it as a personal insult and blatant elitism. I would have gone on the offensive and derailed the thread in the process.   This  morning I read this and went "Yeah that is probably true and I have seen this myself in those who have been here a very long time."  

 

I was actually shocked that it didn't bother me and even more shocked that I agreed with it.  I am finally understanding that levels of skill in tulpamancy of any particular tulpamancer has nothing at all to do with Melian and I.  It does not reflect on us in any way or pertain to us in any way whatsoever.  That is because I am not practicing tulpamancy and Melian is not a tulpa.  

 

My goals and desires have always been different.  I never came here to make a tulpa.  I just wanted to share something I was excited about and something that means a great deal to me.  Trying to compare Melian to a tulpa is like comparing an almond to an orange.  Yes, Melian is the nut in that analogy.
