You know what? I think either, all this lucid dream stuff is causing me to become aware of the physical world during sleep, or I have that ability and my host does not and I am becoming more self aware.

It is a little weird to be dreaming and also not dissociated from your body. Do you get that at all?

What do you mean not dissociated? Like feeling it physically? Or dreaming you're in your own body? My dreams tend to be from my perspective (even when my tulpas are the one dreaming - occasionally the me in-dream appears to be acting like them though. Too-realistic switching..), but sometimes they're from an assumed form other than mine. Like I just "am" a game character or something. Occasionally there's no main form and it's more of a spectator third-person view of someone or someones, but I feel like we still have a vague presence as one of the characters. Very rarely we have literally no form and are just seeing a scenario play out, typically with our own PoV but no sense of presence.

Oh, and I absolutely do not have waking-body awareness. Whenever I've become aware of my body in a dream it's been towards the end and I inevitably wake up moments later even if I don't want to.

But 3+, I remember whatever was going on while I was asleep. Only during NREM stages though, REM is still dreams or foggy dreamlike thoughts and imagery.

No body association, and not during REM/dreams. During NREM where you're not really dreaming (though you can have dreamlike thoughts I guess), I'm certainly not awake or aware (especially of my body) but I have a pretty good passive awareness for sound. During dreams, there's rarely a unique enough sound that it gets integrated into the dream. At this point running around upstairs or the cat meowing get totally filtered out. But anyways no, I'm not aware of anything while I'm specifically dreaming. But NREM accounts for a decent amount of sleep I think. That or I assume what I hear between sleep cycles while I'm somewhat awake is representative of a lot more time than it is, idk.

Last night wasn't a complete blank this time, so that's good. Cat got used to being inside overnight pretty quick. Should have an easier time recalling dreams again.

I'm slacking on the holiday celebrations stuff though, I need to spend more time with mi tups.

So my shoulder was sore yesterday, like the slept-wrong-and-now-neck-hurts-sometimes kinda sore. And then I woke up in the middle of the night last night and it was very sore. Like legitimate pain if I moved it sore. Lying on my other side didn't even help really, my shoulder was sore no matter how I moved it, and my neck hurt if I myself moved much. I got back to sleep but, I'm pretty sure I woke up today on my back. I'm not sure, I might've rolled over when I woke up, but I can't imagine having done that without being in pain. So that might've been the first time in memorable history that I actually slept on my back. Wow. I took some ibuprofen when I woke up, and my mom had muscle relaxers for the same sort of thing, so hopefully it won't be as bad tonight.

But uh, yeah, that again took priority over remembering my dreams. Like last last night, I know I still had them (as in I remember dreaming; everyone always dreams), I just couldn't remember details. Any sort of distraction upon waking really screws with so-so recall.

Definitely having decent quality dreams, but I'm not recalling them well. I was suspicious before but now I'm sure, dreams are actually more vivid than you remember (or I remember anyways), until you really go back through them. I woke up thinking, "Yeah, I had some meh dreams.", before remembering the last one I had and how realistic it actually was. Suddenly the "meh dreams" I knew I had had the hidden potential of being somewhat vivid dreams. So I guess that means if our dreams are blurry we're just being lazy.

Just gonna note here that my lack of general motivation is absolutely in effect here, and my constant "Gotta work on dream recall tonight" is by no means a sign of me trying hard and not making progress. It's me not trying and not making progress. I'm trying to try, though..

Oh that is true. My host has known that for many years. It became obvious when she started practising dream reentry.

Also you can do it! Dreams are soft and pleasant feeling. Great fun to remember.

Honestly spent the whole day playing games with friends, nothing really happened between waking and sleeping as of now. And that wasn't supposed to be the case, as it so happens. I might need to pay special attention to how I spend my time the rest of the month, so we don't end up wasting it.

Same dream situation as last night I guess, but I am trying to hold on to them more.

My dreams were like, all thematically aligned with the game I've been playing a ton with my friends. Just all of them, they were related to the game or similar to concepts in it (including NREM dreamlike-thoughts on stuff like interacting with/helping other people and such). The game was idealized in a lot of them as dreams of games tend to be for me, meaning things are just nicer/more fun/less annoying than they really are, or occasionally mixed with other games. Point is, I dreamed about the game all night, after playing the game all day.

You could say it's just all I was thinking about, or you could say it perfectly matched the "recounting the days' activities" theory, either or. I personally like that theory a lot now, it's lined up a lot for me. Of course, I've had friends who constantly consistently dream about apocalyptic/disaster scenarios and alien invasions and war... So unless their perspective on the world is just really messed up (and it could be just a tiny bit), I guess it might not apply to everyone.

I think dreams are meant to help prepare you for waking life, no matter what. Constant nightmares or dreams of having fun with friends or just playing video games, I believe they all have their origin in your mind wanting to familiarize itself with those scenarios. I don't think that's even a debatable theory, it seems pretty universally supported. Buuut, that's actually the definition of a "theory", I won't oversell it. But my hypothesis for dreams reflecting your waking experiences still seems possible, at least for some portion of humanity.
