You just have to talk to them, don't worry about controlling what they do/say. As long as you talk to them consistently and treat them like they're really there, they will form and eventually respond. You don't even need to visualize if you don't want to.

So yes it's optional, and preferably avoided since it can cause doubts, just talk to them.

Just imagining them walking or sitting is harmless though, don't worry about it.

Eh, all my systemmates, you could say, were successfully vocal because of parroting and puppeting. I wrote novels and that's what you do. The characters 'came to life' and began to speak for themselves, i didn't need to think of them as even a sentient being or even try to make a tulpa, but in essence that's exactly what happened, it happened over and over each new book spawnes autonomous vocal characters. Now it's like, I don't puppet or parrot anything not even new characters. I can puppet a form in wonderland, like a remote controlled robot or something, but that's specifically made to be controlled.

Parroting, puppeting, that's all valid, eventually they'll do and say things on their own. People sometimes discourage it because you can get confused if it's you or them, that's a phase that you can easily overcome with time.

Oki, thanks guys. Currently my active forcing is travelling the world of Skyrim with my tulpa and telling it about that world.

For now, I'll try to avoid puppeting any actions for my tulpa. Let's see where this will lead us.

I'll visit this thread again after few days. So if anyone has something to add, be sure that I will read your post and will be grateful.

I am especially interested in opinions of those, who are STRONGLY against any puppeting. Were you able to get any actions from tulpa in wonderland or after imposition?

Narration-based techniques have worked for many people, but they tend to be slower and less reliable than parroting-based techniques. Most of the people who report having tried for years unsuccessfully to make tulpas also report unwillingness to use parroting or personality forcing.

There is an extremely subtle but important difference between talking at a headmate and talking to a headmate. You can talk at a headmate indefinitely without getting a response, even if they are fully developed.

Parroting is mostly harmless in any amount. Novel and roleplaying characters are parroted to self-awareness on a routine basis and may continue to be parroted some of the time long after gaining self-awareness. Parroting that does not involve talking to the host is probably best for avoiding parroting-related doubts, as when they subsequently do start talking to you, it will be a new and different experience.

I'm not having fun here anymore, so we've decided to take a bit of a break, starting February 27, 2020. - Ember

The first time a character talked to me, I was pretty surprised, I didn't believe it really, and immediately thought, oh, i must have done it, but then there were times soon after that I was definitely not involved. I looked on line and saw that thing about how writerssay their 'characters came to life'. My point is, I wrote that first draft in 88 days, so within that time I had 'characters' that talked to me out of canon. By the end of yhe book, I didn't write it, they mostly did.

When forcing, sometimes I find myself thinking about what my tulpa could answer or how it could react to my words.

Is it better to cast away such thoughts or welcome them?

That's probably harmless, but I'd try asking the tulpa what their thoughts about things are to get a genuine response. Unless it's too early, in which case you could just focus on forcing and ignore the other stuff for now.

Btw, we don't call tulpas "it."

That's a really good method actually. This is what is typically suggested when a tulpa has been trying to become vocal for a long time, but it'll work eventually.

[bear] This is, in our opinion, preferred over narration.

Thanks! Even though it looks like two opposite points of view :)

Ok, decided! I do forcing for just two weeks. For next month or two I will cast away these thoughts. I hope they move to my unconscious.

But if there will be no progress, I'll probably try to think consciously for my tulpa.

While there are opposite opinions, I can only do what my heart tells me to do :)

Sorry for my terrible English. Tell me if I misunderstood you.

My current mood is something like "We will do it! Even if every other tulpamancer is just roleplayer and every guide is a lie. In this case, we will be first. We are mad enough."

>> Btw, we don't call tulpas "it."

Got it! Sorry. I just don't want to share anything about my tulpa's personality.

If I don't know a Tulpa's or anyone's gender I use "them" or "they".

Thinking for your Tulpa may lead to some problems down the road, but you should do what you and your Tulpa think are right for you guys. Once your Tulpa becomes vocal, they will have an easier time resisting you thinking for them.

Note: I'm hit-or-miss activity-wise on this account. I may not respond to PMs for awhile.

I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron.

My other headmates have their own account now, but it's outdated and I can't be bothered to update it

If I missed seeing your art, please PM/DM me!
