Sands August 24, 2013 August 24, 2013 Tulpas is still the correct one in English according to the all-knowing Wiktionary, but tulpa as a plural is much, much better than tulpae. Because that is just plain wrong. The THE SUBCONCIOUS ochinchin occultists frt.sys (except Roswell because he doesn't want to be a part of it)
Shui August 24, 2013 August 24, 2013 So if anyone changes Wiktionary, whatever they change it to is correct. "'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you.'"
Sands August 24, 2013 August 24, 2013 You can try changing it to include tulpaeis and see what will happen. The THE SUBCONCIOUS ochinchin occultists frt.sys (except Roswell because he doesn't want to be a part of it)
Kaz with a K August 25, 2013 August 25, 2013 It's weird because out loud both Tulpas and Tulpae sound dumb. I vote for Tulpa to be it's own plural. Though, I just now said that aloud and it sounded dumb as well.... Shit, nothing sounds good. Tulpa: Adryan Form: Anthro wolf-ish Stage: *sighs loudly* Age: Looks 17, is actually 1 1/2 “Human beings can always be relied on to assert, with vigor, their god-given right to be stupid” -Dean Koontz “In the end, I worry that my arrogance shall destroy us all” -Brandon Sanderson
omegaAnubis August 25, 2013 August 25, 2013 Personally i prefer tulpae, but thats just me Also, am i the only one who finds it so fucking stupid how everyone flips out over the plural of one word i am forever banned from drinking orange juice because my tulpa hates it with a burning passion
Sands August 25, 2013 August 25, 2013 If by everyone flips out you mean discussing correct English grammar in a community that made up a nonsense plural for something that already had a plural in English, sure. I wish someone had some logs as proof of "tulpae" being made just to see how gullible people could be and use a made-up word just because someone told them to, like the rumor I've heard goes. That would be funny. The THE SUBCONCIOUS ochinchin occultists frt.sys (except Roswell because he doesn't want to be a part of it)
Linkzelda August 25, 2013 August 25, 2013 I picked both with same meanings, but with what people stated here already, I guess I'm just one of those who never took the liberty to pronounce "tulpae" to myself. I checked on some pronunciation online sites and found words that would trail onto the word for tulape. http://www.howjsay.com/index.php?word=vulvae&submit=Submit hover over the word "Vulvae" and you'll hear it sound like 'Vul' - 'vye' or 'Vul' - 'vee' Compare that to 'Tulpae' and it sounds like 'tul - pie' (inb4 pewdiepie). I tried entering 'tulpa,' no result for that, even though that's a no brainer. But this site [click here] makes tulpae sound like 'tool pei.' Tulpae, at least with how its pronounced in many accents and voices from that same link with oddcast.com sounds weird. Hnnnngh. I don't know, to save face, tulpa or tulpas. Also, for 'tulpaeis' when it's typed on the oddcast.com link I posted above with other voices than Julie's (US), Top lel. Sounds like they're slobbering just saying it. Sands August 25, 2013 August 25, 2013 Best plural is tupperware. The THE SUBCONCIOUS ochinchin occultists frt.sys (except Roswell because he doesn't want to be a part of it)
Shui August 25, 2013 August 25, 2013 I'll go with that, Sands. "'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you.'"
JackTheWingedLion November 6, 2013 November 6, 2013 I swear I'm not retarded. Okay, I might be. But that's not the point. What's the difference? Jack's not there yet.
