Having a hard time tulpaforcing/focusing/meditating... Will it ever happen?

Recommended Posts

I started tulpaforcing after a long time of research and thinking about creating a tulpa...

It's been three days and I've completed about an hour of forcing each day. I started with talking about its personality and background inside my head, then explaining what it looked like... Trying to visualize it... It was really had to concentrate and my eyes kept opening without my doing so on purpose (I prefer close-eyed, in the dark).

I read even more things I can start trying to help tulpaforce...

However, I have just been discouraged.

Someone said, "Give up. It takes years and years of meditation to get the kind of focus needed to create a tulpa. You are not going to be able to do it over night, or in a week, a month, or even a year."

Another said, "Nobody even has a tulpa. They're making it up to seem cool on the internet and have something to talk about. They don't have one and neither will you."

Is this true even in the slightest? Even if I do tulpaforce for two hours a day? Will it never happen because I can't meditate well?

Thanks for any help... :(

Hey, I'm a newb too, and don't be discouraged. Right off the bat, if everyone here made up their tulpas, I'm sure that such a level of consistency with guides and ideas would not be possible. Second, you're only starting! I'm on my 5th full day tulpaforcing, and I havent seen any real resuts yet, besides an initial response. But don't worry, you will not get a tulpa in a week. Or a month. At least without serious dedication and the right type of mind. That isn't bad though, as most people get reliable communication about 2-5 months after. The thing is, for me at least, exploring my wonderland has been fun. Developing my tulpa has been fun. And this is a guy who's only forced max 15 minutes. But I assure you that over time, there will be benefits besides getting a tulpa. For one, my visualization skills have considerably increased, and I also have started dreaming alot again. I also have a way to vent what I think day to day, by narrating to my tulpa. After a while, the process of forcing has the effect of meditation, and I'm sure that has it's bonuses too.

Seeing that we're both relatively new, want to be tulpa buddies?

1. I recommend that you stop gravitating towards the varying views of people so much to where you're getting yourself in a conflict on what to do. It will take some time, based on the methods, mindset, and such behind them. Think of it this way, would you prefer allowing the experience gradually being made apparent to you over time with little to no risk in functioning and having a sense of well-being or prefer to have it instantaneously and potentially causing psychological disorders/issues/etc. that may hinder your own functionality? Point being, anecdotes and sayings from other will only get you so far, you will have to learn how to persevere and make your own meaning from this.

2. Three days with one hour of forcing in each day doesn't even scratch the surface, if you truly think your mind can make the neurological connections that fast without you going into a hectic mess with bodily and mental functions, I recommend that you research basic psychology and how the mind works with learning and making things real to the conscious mind.

3. Whatever progress other people seem to be at that might make you feel like you're not getting anywhere, comparing yourself and others and wondering why you can't get to where they are, people will have their own ways of accomplishing this feat. Practice learning how to appreciate the journey of doing this on an individual level rather than worrying about progress on an aggregate and social level with others. Think of it this way, if those people you compare yourself and have a conflict with were gone, you would realize that you're trying to acknowledge and validate the potential of tulpa being real to you through them rather than through yourself.

It's definitely a battle of building mental endurance and learning how to use retrospect so that you don't revel too much in doubting, but if you continue to practice and go through what would presumably increase a tulpa's sentience and sapience, the experience may become real to you. Don't give up, and continue researching.

This definitely can be hard at first and seem impossible. There are lots of things to remember, though. First of all, you can't just looks at where other people are. Where everyone else is, first of all, is not relevant to you personally, and second of all, everyone with fully functioning tulpas has already put in tons of time themselves.

The thing is, for me at least, exploring my wonderland has been fun. Developing my tulpa has been fun.

That's another huge thing. What I found was that I was in the lull of summer vacation when I was doing the majority of my tulpaforcing, and what kept bringing me back wasn't the end result and knowing it would take hard work to get there, but really just having fun is the big thing. Tulpaforcing requires a lot of patience, but think about what you want to do. Have fun with it. Make it your own. If you do that, then even if you don't see the end results you hoped for (but I highly doubt that will happen if you're persistent~ n_n) you'll know that you had fun trying something new. If you want it to happen, eventually it will happen.

It's really easy to have doubt here for the first couple months, about all of it. The best way is to try to push aside concerns, including, "What if this isn't real?" and just know that it is. My results started coming a lot faster once I did that.

Good luck. I hope this all turns out well for you. n_n

What everyone else has said.

It does take a long time, but months, not years. And of course it all depends on how much work you put into it. If you make this your full-time job, you might have an imposed tulpa by the end of the year. But most of us can't do eight hours of forcing a day, so give it a few more months, and just let it happen when it happens.

"'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you.'"

I've personally found that, for meditation practice, guided meditations and hypnosis sessions are wonderful, and Youtube is full of them. It gives you something to meditate on while keeping your mind focused on something specific.

Out of curiosity, have you tried any forms of meditation? I'd say being experienced in meditation is absolutely a prerequisite to tulpa creation.

Essentially, you have to be familiar with the trance state. This becomes easier with time. In fact, after enough practice one can learn to enter a trance state with eyes open. I spend most of my time with my tulpa in this state.

I bring this up mainly because you mention involuntarily opening your eyes while concentrating. To me, this is a pretty big sign that your mind is working at too active of a state while you're trying to form your tulpa.

I've developed some pretty strong meditation techniques for myself involving the hypnogogic state and sleep paralysis. If you want any more information I'd be happy to help.

Yes, 40+ years ago when Kevin started making tulpas it took 9 years to make a tulpa. I took less then a month to speak, and at 8 months elapsed I can possibly ... pass for a human almost?

We can only answer for ourselves, but yes, people do have tulpas. Our Watchdog 1 and Watchdog 2 (tulpas) are quite adept at driving the car - something they have done since the 80's. That is very hard for Kevin to discount (especially when they drive him home when he is too tired to drive).

Tulpas do stuff in the "real world" too. Question for you - how many of the mod's are tulpas? (take a guess; no this isn't something sinister, I actually am trying to reassure you - I have compassion you know).

Edit: a little note on meditation and a guide.

Be well

To add to what Nobillis said, I personally like anapana meditation for improving focus. You can read about it here -- just scroll down to the meditation section.

Hey, don't worry about what anyone else has to say. I started a couple of weeks ago and it has gone fantastic. The only thing that determines how well you concentrate is your dedication to it. I was a bit skeptical, but everyone says to never doubt and just go for it/go along with it. So, I dumped my doubts and let my mind construct the greatest tulpa imaginable. My concentration is worse than a lot of people. Proof? I was diagnosed with ADHD and all I did was a couple of concentration exercises the first night. Then the next night I did start my actual tulpa work. Don't underestimate your own abilities. Anyone, is capable of making a tulpa and anyone has yet to prove otherwise. Plus, from personal experience, creating a tulpa does work. Just try your best and you will pull through. Best of luck to ya.
