No SS, 0/10 you suck /s

Whenever I watch an osu! video I switch between following the pointer with my eyes and not moving my eyes at all and letting it 'dance' around my focus. Can't decide which I like better.

And you're welcome? I guess.

1 You have no idea, we have very strong feelings about why this is a terrible game. It's all we can do not to give it up entirely. Yesterday 4/5 through a song I saw I beat my old score (you see the left side of your screen move) and in the same second I missed a single note (a slider) and instantly failed out. Also, I completed a song with no misses that all of us have been trying to do for months now, went from top 2k to top 1k. Went from 920 performance points to 914. Lost points due to having a lower overall accuracy.

God I hate this game, I wish I could disable the entire UI and just click circles. It's too much fun and it does its best not to be.

2 Same, believe it or not I can actually play like that. You learn to move to and hit notes quickly without looking directly out them so you can stay where the action is going to be, but at least for me, I can literally stare at the middle of the screen and play just fine. Actually had the thought that I could play without looking directly at the screen at all lol.

I'm bad at games, so I decided to upload a video of the Battlefield 1 open beta.

Every time dangit. "Wonder why they're playing such an old Battlefield, isn't the new one about to come out?" This XBox 1 stuff is almost as stupid as Windows 8 -> 10.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

You should really reload before moving to the next space, be it outside or another building or whatever, instead of reloading while walking. That way if someone catches you then you're not stuck reloading.

Speaking of, that game looks crazy. The official fighting games have some very slight shmup/curtain fire aspects, but the one for playstation has legitimate shmup dodging. The art's not bad either, though the game isn't 2D the portraits are great.

I played a little of this at my bud's house. Real good looking game, playing the same map over and over got a little boring but guess that comes with the territory when it comes to betas.

We're all gonna make it brah.

So I recorded another Osu replay, because I'm curious about something. Do you guys find Hidden gameplay more interesting to watch, less, or about the same? Some people get Hidden instantly and some just can't do it. It makes almost literally no difference to us playing like that, we just end up with a few more 100s which has been known to actually lower our Performance Points despite getting a higher overall rank from its multiplier.

This video really wanted to lag, by the way. The last ten minute video on the same bitrate was fine, but this one had to be recorded thrice. I attempted 12mbps for actually OK quality 1080p, but you can

if you want. Then I went back to 8mbps, but for some reason it lagged again anyway, so I restarted the computer and closed all programs.. Sheesh. I didn't want this to take long.

Anyways still don't really plan on recording anything since we're unlikely to get surprisingly better any time soon. But I've always wondered what other people, especially non-Osu players, thought about the Hidden mod.

About the same

It's not black and white; It certainly makes it more difficult for me, and often forces me to learn the song better. From a viewing-only perspective, it makes things a bit more impressive.

I'm curious; If you find a song+difficulty that's at the edge of your ability, such that you can just get enough to not fail it about every other time you play it, and then play it on hidden, would you miss any notes?

Extremely difficult songs (like the one I was just playing that required me to ZXZXZX as fast as I physically could) are much harder with hidden on and we don't bother. Hidden is only as easy as normal insofar as you're playing by autopilot based on your sight reading ability. IE, you literally know exactly what to do based on the music and the vague references of where to click. On a hard song where you're constantly deciphering/trying to keep up with their really weird patterns, you kind of need all the help you can get. If it's faster than you can read then you're certainly not going to do well on hidden.

There are some reverse exceptions though. On a Me!Me!Me! song that's pretty difficult and used to be impossible for us, there's a part where it puts notes on the end of sliders a split second apart so you get tricked into sliding backwards. We can sight read that easily now, but at the time, Hidden would've made it so there was zero confusion on where the notes were. Ironic, huh?

Anyways, non-hidden helps with timing. "Hard" songs that you don't know the rhythm of like the back of your hand will generally have more 100s or even 50s on hidden for any player. Non-hidden is just a little bit of extra guidance on the timing whereas hidden assumes you know what you're doing.

Hidden is a neat mod to mess around with, but I think that it's about as entertaining as a standard play. DT is my favorite:
