I've been researching tulpas for quite a while now, and I've finally decided to give it a go, but I'm worried about how long it may take. I'm completely fine with it if it takes me a few weeks, months, ect, but does everyone posses the ability to create a tulpa? I'm convinced that tulpas are real and can be made, but I'm worried if I could actually do it. Again, I'm willing to put some time and effort into this to create my own lil friend.

The main reason I'm worried about this is because I was diagnosed with asperger's syndrome a few years back, and I've been wondering if that would interfere with my tulpa in any way. Considering I'm an aspie, though, I can sometimes focus on things I'm interested in very, very well, so I'm hoping that will be the case once I start with my tulpa, but there's no way I can be sure. I hope my worries/concerns are understandable x_x

Have a nice day!

I am convinced most people don't have what it takes in terms of discipline and commitment, and I think that some won't learn these skills.

However, if you mean theoretically, if the person was able to force for long periods every day...

I don't think everyone has the ability to crush that cringe factor inside themselves enough to suppress the clamping down on the subconscious this creates when engaging in these more creative pursuits.

I also don't think everyone has enough creativity to produce empathic responses within themselves of the type necessary to create a character. A necessary subskill.

Can these abilities be trained? Usually.

I also don't think everyone can experience or control altered states of consciousness. This is also a necessary subskill. If you can meditate, then you're fine. If you can daydream to the degree where you lose contact with your physical world senses, then you're fine.

Oh, you have aspergers? You're fine.

Thanks for the feedback :P I'm more than willing to work on forcing for an hour or whatever is neccessary each day, I just worry. Hopefully that's understandable. I don't know if it will work, but I'm I suppose, desperate for a tulpa and will do my best to create one. I just hope my hard work pays off and this isn't just an amazingly put-together hoax, or I end up not having the abilities to create one properly v_v

Samuel Veissière, a PHD wrote "Varieties of tulpa experiences The hypnotic nature of human sociality, personhood,

and interphenomenality..." he reported on data he collected that discussed Autism Spectrum Disorder, in relationship to tulpamancy. (Asperger's syndrome is no longer used. IT is included in ASD.) Specifically, he was trying to determine if tulpa shared the host ASD disposition, as there is some evidence that tulpa may not share host problems. DID, which is not tulpa per say, frequently have personalities that do not share host symptoms. Sammuel data suggested tulpa did score on the ASD scales, but not to the degree that the host did. Sammuel also writes about that tulpas may actually help people with specific mental illnesses. So, in short, you don't have to fear that you are not capable because of a medical label. Your brain works. More likely the mitigating factors will be as tulp001 one suggested :discipline.

A tulpa is a controlled placebo that evolves into a separate ego. If you have the ability to overrule your unconscious bias against the idea that a sentient being can live in your brain as a separate mind, then definitely. Can everybody do it? Sure. But it's extremely difficult for some people, and that's where it becomes possible for some people to become unable to practice tulpamancy.
