Thanks for the clarification. Let us know how it goes, we're interested in hearing about that.

Okay. I planned to describe it.

As a trained hypnotist, what you are asking is indeed possible. The better question is will a trained, professional hypnotist participate. I personally can make an argument for helping you with such a task. There is a segment of therapeutic community who suggest having a 'safe place' to go in your head to have regular have 'time outs.' Having such a place can be made more tangible with routine and practice, and frequent vocalization of intent, like 'when I sit, close my eyes, and close finger on thumb, I will go to my safe place.' (safeplace- wonderland.) All a hypnotist is doing is taking the 'suggestion' you already want to employ and moving them into a deeper part of your psyche, usually bypassing our resistance to self programming. You can do this with self hypnosis. (Self hypnosis works, but sometimes require greater initial effort before you see results.) It is also possible to create or find an existing script and do this with friends or family, or even a recording of yourself. I personally don't recommend the self tape because I can't stand my own voice; it's not a bad voice, it just I don't like hearing it. If you can find it, there is a hypnosis book called "hypnosis with friends and lovers" by Freda Morris that might offer some insights if you are unable to find a therapist willing to help you in this endeavor.

I think I should add caveat to this. There are different types of hypnotist. You could be a hypnotist, but not a hypnotherapist. SO, a hypnotist might help you with small goals, like smoking cessation, but they wouldn't provide therapy. (That's true mostly in the US, maybe not Russia... And even here in the states, each state has different rules for hypnotist and therapist, and so you could be a therapist and not a hypnotist, because that's an additional license, or different certification is required. (I am a hypnotist, certified even, and I am a counselor, and though I can legally do therapy, I can't legally do hypnotherapy because I lacked the certification, if that makes sense.) I suspect a hypnotherapist would be less likely to engage in this activity, but a hypnotist might, but even a stage hypnotist could do this, and there are some people who are just naturally good at hypnotism that don't have certification, and they could do this... There are multiple variables to success, including the client/clinician rapport and interaction dynamics, so even someone who has a good track record might not be successful on the first implementation. For example, some therapist can end smoking in one session, many take anywhere from two to six sessions before progress is seen, so there isn't a blanket statement about success rates in general, but what you're requesting would likely have a high success rate because you're mostly asking for increased clarity and focus, which is exactly what trance work is about.

I had a pretty unique experience with self-hypnosis this morning. I was awakened and couldn't sleep, so i woke up Ashley and she helped by going through our self hypnosis exercise (for sleep).

Well she did a wonderful job, but i didn't sleep, instead i went into a semi-lucid trance where she then decided to give me some positive suggestions. After that, she ended the session and i got up. I felt amazing. I don't even know what she suggested because i could barely follow it. I only had 4 hours, yet i've been refreshed all day.

Anyway, a good experience with self hypnosis. She acted as a hypnotist i guess, but all she did was recite our usual relaxation exercise that seconds as a self-hypnosis exercise. She has a calm soothing voice, but i could have done the same script myself.

Your advice is the most voluminous. Yes, in Russia there are also hypnotists (working from the stage), hypnotherapists and people who are fond of hypnosis. I contacted the hypnotherapist. His résumé says he's a specialist in dealing with irrational feelings and psychosomatic disorders. I think I'm one of the few people who turned to him for the addition of irrational sensations, and not to remove them :)

PS. I think it will be very interesting this experience and he asks for some time to describe what's happening with me.

Hey, guys. I was with a hypnotist. Briefly about the main thing: the method does not work. Your imagination just help to work more actively. I could smell the roses in my memory, but I couldn't fully immerse myself in the fictional place.

Smelling roses in your memory sounds like a good start. Did you only have one session? Do you suppose if you had more sessions, each session might build on previous success until you attain your goal? It is my experience that sometimes our subconscious 'sabotages' results because it doesn't believe the conscious is ready to commit to a change... Just a possible explanation, not an absolute answer. A better analogy is that the system, 'unconscious-conscious' is like an iceberg with the majority of it under water, and though you may turn an iceberg in place, it takes a lot of energy to change momentum.

Hmm... I'm sorry sitdovnn.

My host in particular has a lot of anxiety, and we wouldn't be surprised if going to a hypnotist wouldn't work because my host may get a little paranoid.

If you felt overly excited or paranoid about your visit, it may not have worked. Immersion takes time too, and a 50 minute visit may have been too short.

We think my host practices naturally induced hypnosis, and I have heard rumors that Role Playing can lead to better visualization. Also, there's a Hypnotist on Discord I think named Verple. Breloomancer knows more about this than I do though.

Note: I'm hit-or-miss activity-wise on this account. I may not respond to PMs for awhile.

I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron.

My other headmates have their own account now, but it's outdated and I can't be bothered to update it

If I missed seeing your art, please PM/DM me!

Yes, I think more sessions would give a visible result

Yes, I really hoped for the result and was very worried (in life there was also a Grand failure, the hope was that at least this initiative will turn out, but I was wrong). We have to try again and again.

The session lasted 3 hours, although it felt like 45 minutes.
