Visualizing a place you feel familiar with is usually much easier than something completely original you yourself made up. It's not a "thing" per se, a HUD (like from a video game) would be visualization like in a video game.. But it's purely in the realm of imagination, tulpas or not, so there's nothing to explain about the concept. I feel like I've heard the term "heads up display" maybe once in all my years on this forum. It's not a "necessity" or, seriously, even really a "thing". You can try and imagine having a HUD if you're wonderlanding a video game, I guess.. But even in my dreams of being in video games I don't have a HUD. Hi!
