Nothing.
Lord of Yggdrasil February 24, 2013 February 24, 2013 They're not really Tulpas, but it was my destiny to create a new universe of lie...this was a small step.
Lacquer March 18, 2013 March 18, 2013 Coulda sworn I had posted in this thread. Huh. My reasons are primarily for the self-improvement aspects. Memory recall, another perspective on things, etc. Oh wait, I found my reasons in my PR: I have multiple reasons for making a tulpa, as nearly everyone here does, but my reasons may be a little different. As I believe a tulpa has domain over the brain beyond any but the most trained humans have, I will be working with my future tulpa for "self-discovery", becoming more aware of myself and who I am, as well as being more introspective and self-understanding. We will work together to help me make better decisions, break bad habits while forming good habits, and be a better person. That could mean better socially, physically, etc. These reasons were my initial reasons beyond "this is an amazing thing to do". A short time later, and I was one of the first to think of it, back in April (no one heeded me then, and if I tried to remind them now, they wouldn't remember), I thought about switching and being able to experience in my mind sensations impossible for my human form to experience, which I believe is a process made many times harder without a tulpa to have root access to the brain to help you out. The reasons that followed, "extra perks" if you will, are closer to what most people want with a tulpa: things like companionship, a relationship beyond one that any other human can provide, etc. All these related things what with better lucid dreaming, mindscape hijinks, etc. are just bonuses on top of bonuses. It's a wonderful world, and a beautiful mind. (That bit at the end was horrible)
Tulpony March 19, 2013 March 19, 2013 -I live by myself and plan to stay that way, but still wanted someone to hang out with. I'm extremely introverted, so don't make friends easily. I figure someone who already understands me completely would be the best fit. -I've had imaginary friends of some variety all my life (yes, even up until I started tulpamancing). This was really the next logical step. -I'm obsessed with fantasy, and this is as close to befriending a mythological creature as I'll ever get. -As Advance said, it's seriously frigging awesome.

Lacquer May 4, 2013 May 4, 2013 I came here because of this thread to try to get a better view of Oguigi's motivation, and I found the post: I got started because i was curious, no regrets. my life has definitely gotten more interesting. It didn't help at all. I did find something else that was interesting though: My plan is to make multiple tulpas. In fact, I'm going to make about 200 tulpas. Each one will be assigned to a nation I've come up with. Once all 200 tulpas are created, and each nation is filled evenly, I will put them to war against each other. They will battle to the death, for my own personal entertainment. The end result will be a battlefield strewn with the bodies of tulpas, with one nation being victorious. The winning nation shall then partake into an endless orgy, going at it even on my death bed. As I begin to fall into the deep embrace of death, the last sight I'll see is a massive tulpa orgy with dead tulpas as far as the eye can see. I will then ascend to a higher dimension and become a god. wut. Seriously, wut. Back then were good times... Also, Coulda sworn I had posted in this thread. Huh. I just now realized that I posted here as tulpatalk.
Guest Anonymous May 4, 2013 May 4, 2013 I just now realized that I posted here as tulpatalk. Why did you become Lacquer anyway?
Lacquer May 4, 2013 May 4, 2013 Eight months no posting tulpatalk a shit Hope for change Hope for having a tulpa before revealing It was a failure.
Guest Anonymous May 4, 2013 May 4, 2013 You didn't even start, right? It was a failure. Pretty much sums it up. Ok, since I don't want to post only that, here's my reasons: -why not? -helpful for stuff like remembering These are pretty much the original reasons I had right at the beginning when I first learned about tulpae, I blame my friend who introduced me to them for having talked about them more in these terms then about companionship. /lame excuse I waited about a week before starting Lea, and I guess by then companionship became one of the main reasons. Also self-discovery seems interesting, but that came way after, and isn't a real reason for me anyway.
