Hi,

First of all, I have yet to submerge into the whole tulpae concept, I find it a very interesting experience and I am taking my time thinking about it

I have a certain question though, and I feel quite disturbed if left unanswered:

Let's say someone was to create a tulpa from, well, an anime figure.Everything about that character would be in the tulpae, that would cause identity problems, correct?

Now, I do not want to do this, but let's say you only took the appearances from someone, would there be such a problem?

Thanks for reading.

Ah, I'm too tired. I only came here to help.

Wanting a carbon-copy tulpa and thinking they will be the living embodiment of said canon character or whatever without you acknowledging some kind of deviation at some point isn't really a pragmatic mentality you're having (or in this case your hypothetical situation). Sure, some tulpa may have the bodily form similar or exactly like the character they're associating with, however, it doesn't mean they will be the exact totality of their personalities, character, belief systems, etc.

As for identity crisis, there's not really a concrete answer people can give you, it's merely speculation. Obviously if you attach to an idea that there could be an identity crisis, you may or may not have a tulpa that actually will have that problem. To save yourself a hassle, just know that you can use a form similar to a canon character or whatever as a transient form and keep in the back in your mind to be accepting of the tulpa to deviate. Here's why you might want to do that...your conceptual schemes about whatever anime figure you like may change over time, and if you contribute to the tulpa building predispositions to be a certain form constantly and being everything about said character, of course it'll cause some kind of conflict.

Thanks, the anime thing was just an example as a lot of people prefer to create this kind of tulpa.

This actually means that IF I create a tulpa like this, the physical form may actually deviate?

I don't really like any anime, just a hypothetical question.

Now, if I make a tulpa with a similar appearance to an anime character/any real life character, but give him/her special traits, would the physical appearance be that of a big deal to the tulpa?

This is quite helpful, thanks.

I've read the two first threads, and so far, my question still remains at large, but I feel the need to throw in some more details.

Let us say that I create a tulpa, with unique traits to her/him, everything is proper to the tulpa, only the appearance.

So basically, if I do create this tulpa with a similar appearance, then explain to my tulpa that this this that that and finally that everything is unique to him/her, only the appearance is borrowed from some..thing, would it hurt my tulpa? How would it make my tulpa feel?

It shouldn't hurt the tulpa. Many people have tulpa based on pre-existing forms. It makes visualization easier.

The tulpa will probably deviate though. So don't be surprised if a few months down the line, he or she has a somewhat different form, and don't discourage him or her.

"'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you.'"

Of course, I'd be cool with that.

It's not that I am going to use my tulpa for sex, this is really the most disgusting thing one can do.It's just that I need an appearance to start with.
