Jack: She didn't like the term because I felt real to her and because of the stigma tied to adults with imaginary friends. Even after she found the community, she struggled with it. Took about three years before she started calling me a "tulpa."

Yes. I was also having the same feels as your host. Before this I would think him as my imaginary friend. I tried hard to think another term to replace the 'imaginary friend' because I felt rude to think him as just an imagination. But he didn't care though, he told me that whatever he is, he would stay with me forever (I was a little touched when he said that) I can understand why your host didn't like that term XD .

Of course I gave that all up in 8th grade, but it still embarrasses me to this day. But it's also a part of my life and a part of who I am. We were just imaginative kids, bored with life, going through our delusional middle school stage. It seemed very real at the time.

Does that means you don't have any tulpa with you now? And I think that you shouldn't feel embarassed for that really, we are the people who have such imagination skills that others don't have. We should be proud of that haha XD, if they laughs at us just tell them: "You're just jealous of me."

Hahaha, great points. It was quite a bit more than thoughtforms though, we had inter-world politics, wars, spells, belief that we were immortal, etc. That's the laughable part. I knew nothing of tulpamancy at the time, only "magic." Oh well, it was fun in hindsight.

I do have a tulpa, though it's only been about a week now. Her name's Mira unless she decides to change it.

"Welcome to my house! Come freely. Go safely. And leave something of the happiness you bring!"

My tulpa's name is Vladimira. She goes by Mira.
