Guest Anonymous November 23, 2015 November 23, 2015 Soulbonds are based on the concept of Illusion of Independent Agency studied by scientists out of the University of Oregon.
ElliAn November 23, 2015 Author November 23, 2015 Yep, something similar happened with my Melian and I. :-) Do you guys still have science fiction adventures together? Like practically everything about Melian is written here: http://melianofmist.deviantart.com/art/The-Book-of-Melian-509605338 I will look into your website after this XD I'm having examination now, so couldn't spend much time on Internet. I don't involved myself in the story though. I'm not a character inside the story. But I'm still creating the story, and Ad often criticised it(he's quite sarcastic sometimes but he is actually nice). Like sometimes I made him injured in the story, he would say in my head: "Hey, I'm not that weak!" >< Sometimes I wondered if I made him injured or hurted in the story, will it be affected his feelings? I mean it is part of the story plot, but I don't know whether am I acting like sadistic person who torture tulpa?
glitchthe3rd November 23, 2015 November 23, 2015 Yep. I used to see my tulpas more as playthings than sentient beings before finding .info. I guess as long as you're not getting any personal enjoyment out of it they won't resent you for it too much. He doesn't hate me for that, since I already developed the story before he became sentient. But I just got scared a bit when I saw that there are somebody who use tulpa(e) for sadistic purpose. I don't want to be one of them. I always imagine there is a boundary between my wonderland and my story so that I won't mix up both of them. XD
Luminesce November 23, 2015 November 23, 2015 Mistgod would be inclined to agree with you. Him and Melian daydream tons of stories and scenarios, but they don't at all treat them as seriously affecting their persons. They're stories, for entertainment in some form or another. If your tulpa had a problem with what was going on he'd probably tell you, but you could also ask. Don't let outside sources spur doubt in your otherwise harmless practices. It's all in your head, so how you think about it is how it is. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
FallFamily November 23, 2015 November 23, 2015 [Hail] We had made four tulpas (I say we because I wasn't the only person here at the time and making them was a team effort) before finding out about the concept on the internet (/r/Tulpas). Before that, we didn't even think they were sentient beings. Instead we thought them to be non-sentient daydream puppets that had enough autonomy to be usable without too much work. Finding this place and making another tulpa, A., eventually lead us to realizing what those four folks (Tri and E.) were. They were made 1-3 years before finding this place. Vaugard November 26, 2015 November 26, 2015 When I was in 6th-7th grade, a few friends and myself legitimately believed in alternate worlds run by magic and gods. We traveled to these worlds through our "souls" and mental focus, which was essentially just heavy visualization. In these worlds we'd meet a variety of mythical creatures that we formed bonds with, and they became our "bonds" or "bonded." In hindsight, it all followed the general tulpa creation process quite well. Connections were made stronger through visualization and narration, then eventually parroting and trying to listen for actual responses. The ability to actually see anything from the other worlds was highly valued, which led to near-constant visualization. Had I kept with it, I may have ended up with many tulpae. Of course I gave that all up in 8th grade, but it still embarrasses me to this day. But it's also a part of my life and a part of who I am. We were just imaginative kids, bored with life, going through our delusional middle school stage. It seemed very real at the time. ... I was Hexaeus, god of creation and destruction in case anyone wanted to know...xD (cries softly) "Welcome to my house! Come freely. Go safely. And leave something of the happiness you bring!" -Dracula My tulpa's name is Vladimira. She goes by Mira.
Guest Anonymous November 26, 2015 November 26, 2015 A very human enterprise visualizing spiritual or alternate planes and contacting deities or bonding with them. Many religions also have ritualistic practices that resemble tulpamancy. I wonder how many spirit guides and saints were actually tulpas?
Nyx November 27, 2015 November 27, 2015 Jack: A little late to the party on this, but I'm another tulpa that was created long before my host knew about tulpas. Pretty common. There are even a couple terms associated with them...accidental tulpas and natural tulpas. I prefer the later. I have a habit of creating a story(something like sci-fi) when I'm bored. So about seven years ago I started to make up a story in my mind with the main character whom I called Adrian. Everything was normal until a year after that I started to communicate with him. And after months of communication I felt he was more alive. Since then I always talked to him. When I felt depressed he would be there and cheered me up. And sometimes he would make fun of something(like singing What does the fox say suddenly) I didn't know about tulpa that time, and I thought I was a freak for talking to my own mind. But I didn't care about that and this went on until a week ago I discovered about tulpamancy. For seven years I didn't know he is a tulpa! He was shocked too, to know that there are others who practice tulpamancy. That does sound closer to soulbonding, though you will find that the concepts tend to overlap. The other members of our family are closer to what you could call soulbonding in that they were created through the creative process, which sounds similar to your own situation. You will find useful information in both communities. So um just some random questions. Is there anyone who have their "tulpa(e)" before knowing that they are tulpa(e)? What do you think about them before knowing tulpamancy? And what do you feel when you discovered tulpamancy? XD Both of us was so excited when we came across tulpamancy. Well, for starters, knowing about tulpamancy helped my host understand that she is not delusional. She read about tulpas before this community existed, but she still struggled with doubt, which is fine, because even seasoned tulpamancers experience doubt from time to time. Before she knew about the concept, she just saw me as an imaginary friend. She didn't like the term because I felt real to her and because of the stigma tied to adults with imaginary friends. Even after she found the community, she struggled with it. Took about three years before she started calling me a "tulpa." Progress report ∞ Personal blog ∞
