So I've been reading both FAQ man's and Irish_'s guides, and they both specifically mention hour counts and strict "no parroting/puppeteering" policies.

Then, on the other hand you've got people that swear that parroting (in moderate amounts) is actually beneficial to the forming of sentience and that hour counts don't mean shit. So I'm asking you about your opinion on the matter.

And it just may happen that I'll learn something from this and Huginn will actually pick a more suitable name for herself.

Personally hour counts don't mean much, although, if you start to get something happening before the 5hour mark, I'd be a bit skeptical.

As for parroting, I try not to do it, but there are some cases when I have to do it, for things like poses, muscle movement, facial expression or when I'm board and want to go adventuring. So although there isn't much wrong with it, try to limit your parroting when you can.

I have made an article on hour counts, so if you want to know my opinion, then go and read it.

When it comes to parroting and puppeting, then first you have to realise it is beneficial to teach the tulpa some skills (like walking, moving, talking ...), but I don't think it will help sentience, but we didn't test it much yet, so maybe it does. It can certainly help, but it has to be done either in small doses (preferably with also telling your tulpa why you are controlling them) or you could try JD1215's way of doing, puppeting and parroting for a week or two and then stopping entirely. When it comes to Fede's method ... well I have yet to see someone going fast with it (like e.g. I did with my own method), so I would assume it slows down tupper's development more than FAQman's method.

Lula.: That's basically my thinking, so thanks. Also, you got the best signature ever. Hellgate: London is awesome!

Purlox: If you'd be so kind to give me the link to the article, I'd love to read it.

Just click 'Articles' up at the top of the page. It is the most recent one.

It might just be me being a sperglord, but what do you mean by valid? Parroting is valid -> it's cool to parrot; Hour counts are valid -> they actually mean something? Something doesn't sound quite right to me about that: i think i might have misinterpreted something.

I don't think the strictness with which they were handled in the past was appropriate, but I'm still of the opinion that they're both important factors generally.

Astral project on my face, brother!

[...]or you could try JD1215's way of doing, puppeting and parroting for a week or two and then stopping entirely.[...]

I did this without even knowing about JD1215's way.

It was minor and passive parroting for about a week.

Turned out that we both had quite the same, positive outcome.

At Tulpa.info we do all our science from scratch; no hand holding.

Nah man, get that time table and hour count shit outta here. You're telling yourself that your tulpa will achieve a certain milestone at a certain point, subconsciously chaining the tulpa's progress to that point

As for parroting, I don't think it really matters either way. All depends on how you feel about it
