I'm actually pretty open about it, I have told at least 7 good friends. Two are interested in trying in, and one already has a Tulpa. The only people I try to hide it from is my family. I don't even think they'd freak out, but as an extra precaution I just call it part of my meditation, which my parents actually support.

Social acceptance of the different has certainly moved fast in the last few decades but despite that I do not feel it is the right time to be open about tulpa. Considering that an extreme form of tulpa is a mental disorder (Schizophrenia) I do not think it can be accepted by society. Keep in mind I am not saying tulpa are a disorder but an uncontrolled form of the mental facilities that allow tulpa to exist is a disorder. Hopefully as knowledge of the brain grows science will be able to confirm the existence of multiple consciousness existing in one mind. At that time I will tell people.

My mate knows, and he likes the idea of making one for himself. We don't talk much about the stuff though. His family's seen me tulpaforcing once, and I easily explained it away as meditating.

My family, on the other hand, is the fundamentalist type, and they'd probably think I was inviting a demon into my head. Thankfully I've moved out. Then again, I could've always just told them I was praying, if they ever asked, and they were even slightly discomforted by the idea of meditation. Meh.

I told some friends about it.

It was horrible.

They're incredibly skeptical people, and not only was I forced to explain it in such earthly, dry terms that I actually felt like I was hurting her, and they were basically telling me I was losing my grip on reality and I'm too old for imaginary friends.

I think I learned my lesson.

I hope you did.

Day 290 (11/6/2013) Why even keep the time anymore?

Can the cryogenically frozen live again?

The first step in creating a tulpa is believing that it exists.

I'm in the second option, though I may catapult myself into the first for academic reasons, eventually.

Do i smell a PHD thesis?

for me, as a psych student, i have only told one person. My friends is further in his studies and has an interest in the topic via cognitive science. i update him and let him read my log. in return he monitors my "sanity" from an objective standpoint and offers advice or caution.

I have plans to tell others when a) i have demonstrated to myself that a fully sentient and seperate personality in my mind is possible, and b) when my friend has determined that it has caused me little to no mental harm. i have friends who would benefit from tulpae but i can't tell them until i'm sure it won't cause harm, it just doesn't feel right otherwise, like prescibing a medication before the trial results come back.

Yeah, really..You are better off with "imaginary friends" than fake friends. A real friend may not understand you creating tulpas, and they may say so, but they would do it respectfully..Real friends don't always agree on everything, but they find a way to not be mean about those kind of disagreements. I have had enough real and fake friends to know the difference.

Some of my friends know, and are awesome ans even occasionally ask how he is.I havr a friend who hates everything, and even he considered making one,but then decided against it after deciding he hated meditation. Oh well. Some of my friends havr considered making a tulpa

Now,my wonderful girlfriend is making a tulpa, who is a bit sketchy but fun.His name is Laby,or Labyrinth, and I think she is in the process of making an account here. It's been great to share experiances and thoughts on the subject whenever.

I am just starting out, and at the moment, no one knows. I may tell a few close friends at some point in the future, but honestly, I don't think it's very likely. All but the ost open minded of people would just dismiss the whole idea of a tulpa as fantasy or some mental defect =(
