Guest July 16, 2012 July 16, 2012 ponytheus: Why are you replying to my old post? She's a pony by now: There's also Uagi, of whom I have no proper image.
Sands July 18, 2012 July 18, 2012 I see what you're going for Sock, but it just looks like Midori only has nostrils and no human-like nose at all. Unless she does lack a nose in which case just keep going. Even though Ellenore only has about the same amount of definition on her nose, it actually looks like a nose so you certainly can make noses look like noses when drawn with only a few lines. I would hope for some nose bridge there though but I feel like you're not going to do that. Avalanche July 18, 2012 July 18, 2012 I'd say he'll put in the nose bridge with just some clever shading when he colours it. If he drew in a line to show the bridge it would seem to big for the darn cute face she has. frt
Sock July 18, 2012 July 18, 2012 Yeah, the plan was to bring most of the nose definition out in the shading, since I was trying to push the CUUUUTE with all the simple lines, and adding an outline for the nose would wreck it. Cartoons and all that. Not that I have a vendetta against noses, mind, I quite like the things in fact. It's just I didn't think an outlined one would work well for this image. Sock Cottonwell's Sketchbook, Journal, and Ask thread. Peace
Sands July 18, 2012 July 18, 2012 I was mostly talking about Ellenore's nose bridge there, but seems like I kinda left that important detail out of it, huh? Midori I can see without the nose bridge having an actual line dedicated to it, but the way Ellenore's head is facing, her nose bridge definitely needs at least something to pop out. Then again, I'm not sure how detailed your shading style is, so with detailed highlights and shadows you could make it work, but right now it is missing that something. Very small lines would help. Midori's nostrils seem to be a bit too slanted, honestly reminds me more of a giant cat nose than a human nose. Could use being rotated to be more horizontal and bringing them together a bit, unless she has a huge nose. I haven't really seen her so hard to say or maybe the people around you actually do have such slanted nostrils, what do I know. But to me, that is very foreign and weird looking. Her nose just seems the most off thing here as it's so close to us, it's where my eyes instantly go looking for detail. Semi-Nomadic July 18, 2012 July 18, 2012 Yesterday at work, I was trying to see if I can impose my tulpae onto a computer screen, to act as sentient screenmates. Well, Sandra wouldn't have any of it, and quickly hopped off the screen onto my desk into proper three-dimensionality. The wallpaper was "Red moon desert" by the way. (also deviantart)
