{Kevin (a human) says: If this goes anything like the previous cycles, people eventually lose interest and it goes back to being an obscure Tibetan practice. If so, I'll just wait another 40 years for the next resurgence. At least now I know that it does come around again.

What I hope will happen though, is that it will gradually find more acceptance and eventually be seriously studied by empirical testing. There is much interest in the brain now. Tulpas are now in psychology where fractals once were in mathematics ("not really part of this field"), and yet now fractals are now used to design the antennas in your cell phone. It is possible that one day the people trying to work out how the brain works will notice some of the things the brain can do. Not the current scientists though, they already "know" how the brain works and are too sure of their knowledge to accept anything outside their current lemmas (theories).}

I wish this weren't true, but you're probably right

To be read while listening to

This site shall quickly be going to hell. I may sound like a pessimist, but privately sharing your ideology does not affect those who taint the site, nor will it goad them to cease. Simply put, those individuals who ruin these select pages with their inglorious fantasies and deviating sexual desires will refuse to bow to even those who hold authority! Moderators continue to be disrespected and administrators are flooded by ceaseless torrents of libel!

With no collective respect for a common authority, how may we maintain order? How may we rid ourselves of the vile infestation which plagues our mark on the internet? How may we even discern between those individuals who are "roleplayers" and those who are not? A vile blight has woven itself into the entire form and basis of Tulpa.info, and it will be truly difficult to remove.

I implore you, Administrators, Moderators, and even regular members, strive hard to obliterate the evil which now takes it upon itself to kill the good nature of this site! Unite as one and reclaim the boundaries of the pages you have visited and cherished greatly!

So hear my plan, listen closely! Ban roleplayers, rid us of the perverted masses, kill spammers and reestablish order as it was in the beginning!

I wish you all good luck, and dearly hope, from the bottom of my heart, to gaze upon the perfected Tulpa.info I had never once gazed upon before! I hope that one day, all of the members can join hands and sing together as we were meant to!

Sincerely, Flexionsensor

Shameless self promotion!

It doesn't sound like this 'vile blight' is going anywhere anytime soon. I will patiently wait for anyone who thinks of tulpas or this site with a 'fad mindset' to lose interest and stop logging on. Dunno how long that'll take though.

back in January, where there were maybe 2 roleplayers

There was a massive influx of roleplayers around November also. More than one or two, sadly.

I agree with FlexionCensor: We should either moderate joining of new members, have a more strict moderation crew make a movement on the 'blogginess' of progress reports, kick/temporarily suspend accounts for massive, purposeful disregard for grammar and other obscenities, and/or delete accounts suspected by multiple members of being roleplayers, attention hogs, personal bloggers, etc. Yes, I am guilty of being a little bloggy myself, as well as grammar issues, and I am making an effort to stop. Hence deletion of my tumblr and my now rare appearance on the forums that may become even less to none. Now I fully understand why the old members have left the community.

Correct me if I am wrong, because I'm making a guesstimate here:

This community is about the Tulpae and our understanding of what they are and how they work. This website is supposed to be scientific and professional with a touch of amateur research and development. This website is not primarily a blog. This website is not about the people who create them and the adventures they have in lalaland that may or may not include sex. While interesting to read, I don't think your tulpa's food tastes and sex position are very important in the long run to the community.

Examples,

if they are even needed for god's sake.

An example of grammar obscenities. Although it is in the Off Topic section, it still makes me cringe a little.

Lots of stuff here regarding blogginess and personal information that may or may not be even needed.

I'm too lazy to go fetch you more examples. Just hit the "View Today's Posts" link and look around in the first 5 threads that pop up. This is a very real problem that I believe needs to be addressed.

fourfiction, the idiot.

If you want wanton blogginess, just read MY progress report... Dear Lord... I'll admit, it's getting better, but initially? HELL NO.

Yeah, see, that's why I pretty much never update my progress report anymore, because these days the most interesting thing that happens is I make some alterations to my mindscape or maybe an old tulpa pops up randomly.

My progress report

I'm pretty sure most of us, including myself, are guilty of initial blogginess. I'm mostly concerned with members who primarily blog and just talk talk talk about nothing really important.

fourfiction, the idiot.

If we're going off of grammar and general readability, Akari_Verdugo is a capital offender.

Also, I think that Progress Reports should be moderated for relevance to tulpas. If you want to blog, do it in the talk thread in Off Topic, or in an IRC channel somewhere.

The "vile blight" you are all discussing is all over the internet. There is no point trying to get rid of it. No one listens and if you do manage to influence someone to change their ways there are always more where they came from. You all keep saying that roleplayers have taken over and the site is going to hell. I personally don't see it. Nothing has really changed. I've spoken to a few intelligent people over the months and I've typically avoided those who don't appear to be.

The discussion of progress reports and the future of them is interesting to say the least. I recognized early on that "progress" slows to a halt when you reach a certain level with your tulpa. But, what then? My progress report thread has become a discussion of tulpa related topics and how each topic relates to my experience.

You could call it a blog. Blogs aren't a bad thing, it is the subject that you discuss that counts for anything.

But what about the other threads? I personally find it hard care about most of them at all. They have no structure and ramble about tulpa that are fleeting, unstable and rarely understood by their host at all.

Initial? Starting with the most recent posts on your thread here, there is absolutely nothing of interest. Something about conflicting feelings maybe? If a majority of the threads are like this one then I'm surprised anyone bothers looking through them at all.... oh wait.

Maybe you should lead by example. Instead of just talk talk talk... for an average of two sentences a post, you should try and give some structure to your posts. Maybe then we'll see less people with threads just like yours.

hopefully the whole thing stays in abyss of the internet. that way only the few of us who actually have finished a tulpa can reap the benefits of one, and share our own advice with others who come looking. it would be better than seeing it fall under "mysticism and spiritualism" again, or gaining any unwanted popularity because some popular singer from some music act said on an interview that they have a tulpa.

the best progress for this would be if it actually were actually picked up "for science!", as lucid dreaming and such have been in the past.
