I apologize for the long time to response here waffles, I tried previewing before what I wanted to state below and it didn't show up in the thread here. So I have to make a response in the "insert formatted code" format.

(Had this same issue with the itbegins.png thread where my post wasn't showing up).

Anyway,

Everyone else already stated their opinion, it's not like what I stated would've made OP see my post and forget everyone's opinions. That's why I don't need to jump in with the "but the risks are," when this thread already had people responding within an hour or so after I made the post.

Your posts are usually the longest and therefore the ones that are given the most time. But when you had responded, no-one had yet criticised what the OP intended to do. In fact, given that Kiahdaj had not, why would you assume that it was necessarily going to be given a whole lot of attention? Your ignoring it is a +1 to the number of people who think it's OK to the reader.

Where I just gave a longer post right after that post of how OP can go about making them the same way as any tulpa, Sands just shifts the blame on me not stating the warnings in advance instead. That's the concern, the shift in blaming solely on the other user when it wasn't needed in the first place.

If that was the concern then you should have said that. I understand what you are saying here but the thing is that you never actually brought that up. Near the end you said a few vague things about "I'm mirroring you" - seemingly directed at Sands as well as Kiahdaj, though - but throughout the discussion your main point was that people shouldn't guilt-trip the OP or provide the "what if"s.

Because then Sands mentions this,

Now let's bring me back to this post:

See where this is going? He wants me to refer to his guide, even when I have stated no obligation into doing that when the guide maker should've made it in his own response RIGHT ABOVE ME (post #2). Why didn't Sands just state that to Kiahdaj' instead of me?

Someone please tell me how this is not something ironic, this is why I started getting irritated why I have to do that, but then it's perfectly fine for the guide maker to not state that.

Refer the first point in this post. Was not both (me and Kiahdaj) our posts basically the same thing, except I just gave a tl;dr with a guide to refer to? That's the problem I had with Sands. But I guess if I take the blame instead, and he just goes with favoritism with another member in which he suggested I linked to their guide.

See why this makes everything else invalid from Sands? Thought someone would catch onto this pretty quick.

Was going to respond to your other posts waffles, but hopefully this settles the confusion that I was trying to emphasize. Basically, Linkzelda was a scapegoat, and then was suggested to make a link to someone's guide when said guide maker has more obligationin referencing that same guide they made instead.

Then after people weren't paying attention to that, in comes the mental dance between two people who didn't go back to what they stated to me already. I guess I really do have a low reading comprehension apparently.

Most people consider blatantly endorsing your own guides bad taste. And Sands recommended Kiahdaj's guide because you linked a guide that didn't mention the problems with the OP's wishes while saying that the OP should infer the problems from guides, while Kiahdaj's guide did what you wanted a guide to do the most (warn people about the hazards involved here).

You know, I don't know why Kiahdaj didn't also say that the OP shouldn't do it and I don't know why Sands criticised you by name and not him. However, you should have mentioned that when you replied to his post rather than five pages later.

No, I'm more confused. What you're saying now is valid and I agree somewhat, but as far as I can tell it has nothing to do with what you've been saying before this post. Perhaps you felt that you were being attacked and started posting defensively without thinking about what exactly you were defending yourself with, or perhaps you're just really bad at expressing what you mean in words. Either way, let this be a lesson to you to just say what's wrong at the start of the argument, rather than at the end.

Honestly, I'm still inclined to believe this based on this thread and others. It's not a personal criticism so much as something that you should work on for the future.

Alright, thanks for the suggestion Waffles.
