At what point can you no longer change something about your tulpa? Assuming there's a point at all, of course.

OK I'm in the phase between developing the personality and making the body (form) of my tulpa and giving her voice and smell.

I'm making progress regarding the personality, but I just can't visualize a good body and can't choose a proper smell and voice neither...so I'm kinda stuck.

I'm still learning about anatomy and hearing real life voices to choose a proper one.

But I have a question.

My tulpa is already sentient,I know when she tries to communicate with me in my mind, but as her personality is almost finished I'm scared that if I don't start visualizing a body and choosing a voice right now I will not be able to do those things later.

So my questions are.

Can I still work on the personality and leave the form, the odor and the voice in "standby" while I find the right ones? Or I need to give her a form and a voice right now?

There's some time limit to choose those things? For example if I visualize and impose my tulpa without a odor I will be able to give her one later? Or she will be always stuck without one?

Don't be fooled by my avatar! Twilight is best pone, but my Tulpa is human.

Name:Nadia

Age:17 (I think)

Form:Young Girl,Black hair,tall.

Still in visualization process.

All of the things you mentioned--as well as everything I can think of in this process--can be put off indefinitely, and have no limit after which they cannot be done. You never have to decide on a form or voice; they can come up with these on their own if they want. Likewise, these things can also be changed at any time. Meaning if you did decide on a form, and you later decided you don't like it any more, you can choose another. Of course don't force change on an unwilling tulpa and all that good stuff.

"If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."

Yes, you can. Tulpas are hardly constant and can change at any given time. Form and voice are no exception from this. No, you don't have to give your tulpa a form or voice right away. Heck, you could have your tulpa decide on these.

No, there isn't a time limit for tulpas. You can change things later on and more often than not your tulpa will make a few changes, often called deviations.

Concerning any kind of time limit, there really isn't one, period. At least, that's what I believe, but if you are having trouble, do like Quilten and I did in that I chose a very simple temporary form for him to take until he decided on a voice and form. Pretty much a placeholder.

[align=center]Even though my username is that of my tulpa, Quilten, my name is Phaneron, the host, who does all of the actual posting.

Assuming there's a point at all, of course.

Example: what if you've made a tulpa and later you wish you would have added wings, or gone with a different hair color, or something like that? Or, what if you'd like your tulpa to have a certain interest or personality trait that you didn't initially impose on them?

Does it perhaps depend on whether the tulpa itself wants whatever you're trying to change, or is there a point of no return after they've reached a milestone like speaking or imposition?

If there are no limits, could you potentially change EVERYTHING about the tulpa's appearance or personality?

Don't think of a tulpa as an inanimate mannequin that can talk, it's a person that you effectively "give birth to" as your own mind child.

I mean, pardon the metaphor, as not everyone sees their tulpa as a relative or anything.

But the point is, this is a person, so y'know, changing something about them might not be as easy as 1-2-3, so keep that in mind.

...That sounded bad...

As the others said, no, there is no point at which you can no longer change something about your tulpa, and the same goes for them changing themselves.

There has already been another similar thread made; perhaps you could read that for a few more insights: http://community.tulpa.info/thread-visualization-there-s-a-time-limit-for-choosing-a-form
