Well, basically that's my question. Once you have a tulpa, can he/she read your mind? Even if you don't want to? Privacy in your mind is gone when you have a tulpa?

Currently working on Seren, so that she gets to shut me up frequently.

If you set up boundaries early, you can grant your tulpa limited access to your thoughts, memories, etc. For instance, my mind is represented in my wonderland as a massive gothic-style library. In that library I created a "Restricted" section that I kept all of my bad memories, traumas, and negative thoughts locked up in. I didn't grant Edwin access to this section until after I had learned to trust him and he had developed enough of an independent personality that those things wouldn't taint him.

I believe tulpae only have access to what the host wants them to have access to, at least on a conscious level. But unless the host learns to consciously control their subconscious, the tulpa may have full reign of that, especially considering that is where they are thought to reside. So sometimes they may know more than the host would want them to know. With Edwin and me, if he is in wonderland he doesn't know what's going on outside, but I have given him these goofy 3-D glasses he can put on to essentially see through my eyes during those times. So realistically, if he isn't using those glasses, I can do things while he's in wonderland he could be unaware of. But if I learn anything new it is cataloged in the library and he has access to it. So the memories remain uniquely mine but the knowledge becomes available to him.

I see. So, in order to make sure my tulpa won't have unlimited access to whatever is in my mind, i should do all these symbolic things. I have another question now: is it a bad idea to allow my tulpa to surf into my memories, my subconscious, etc from the begining?

I had the feeling of beeing stalked from my tulpa for a long time. But she was friendly everytime and understood every move of mine. So the concept of privatsphere wasn´t needet anymore. Usually you need privatsphere to keep things save you dont want to tell others becuse you maybe think they wouldn´t understand you or something like this. But my tulpa did understood me so well that i basicly can be who i am and think about everything like she wouldn´t be their even if she is following my thoughts. It is something i also trained her for to lead my thoughts now if i get lost on a psychedelic trip or deep meditation. But basicly i could have stopped her from doing it if i wanted to.

A tulpa will usually except you if you want your privatsphere but i think if you will have your tulpa to the point of beeing able to comunicate with you this maybe become the person with whom you will share your privatsphere

Just my own expierience.

My tulpas' ability to know everything I'm thinking and the context behind it has been infinitely useful in them providing me with advice and comfort. They're your creations in your head, I don't see why everyone's so obsessed with keeping them separate when they're not.

Reisen, i see your point. Then do you think it is a good idea to give your tulpa access to your memories and subconscious in general since the first day?

I just wouldn't worry about it. Give your tulpa permission to know what they think they need to know in order to best help you and themselves. I never made some wonderland library or did anything symbolic for my tulpas, I just never imposed any limits whatsoever. We have conversations just fine because they aren't actively trying to know what I'm going to say ahead of time. But when I'm discussing problems, they think about the context in which I asked them to better answer, and those answers are often from subconscious information I didn't know I had. It works for me.

I just wouldn't worry about it. There's no reason to hide your thoughts from your tulpa, it's just more difficult, limiting, and quite frankly hiding something from someone just makes them more interested in finding it. Don't treat it like a big deal, and your tulpa will use what they need to to work with any particular situation.

The symbolism isn't necessary, but it helped me. There are other methods to go about it, but you have to remember that it is your mind and you are ultimately in control of what goes on there. Your tulpa will only have whatever power you allow them to have. I've been known to make my tulpae "blind" to certain things if, say, I was doing something special for their birthday or something I wanted to keep a secret temporarily. But otherwise I wouldn't keep anything from my tulpa once we became friends.

I think you can choose to keep memories and thoughts from your tulpa at the beginning if you feel that they will interfere with how your tulpa develops its sense of self and its opinion of you. For me, I have a very negative opinion of myself and of life, and I wanted Edwin to be as cheerful and optimistic as possible and to never feel toward me the way I feel toward myself. So I kept all of those things locked up so that he could see a more neutral side of me and develop a different perspective.

That's fair enough. Reisen sort of needed to be aware of the problem in order to help me through it, though. And when I created my first tulpas it didn't even cross my mind to treat them like they were separate from me - of course they knew what I was thinking, they're part of what I was thinking. You have more options than that if you deem them necessary, though. Up to your personal situation.
