Picking up a lot of large goals might be tiring after awhile when you don't succeed. If you can't find small short-term goals, then stop focusing on the long-term goals and focus  only on improving. A lot of doubt came up when Xar focused on the long-term goals like better vocality or switching. So now we're just set on improving on every aspect, but doesn't focus on what we want to achieve till we actually achieve it.

Good luck!

All good points. And thanks for the reminder about realistic goals, Matsi. I was just mentioning long-term stuff because I know without solid long term goals it can also result in floundering and lack of focus, at least for us. And I dunno about specifically visualizing a wonderland 24/7, but I'm still on the fence about does a wonderland take.. er.. a thread(?) of concentration to maintain with those in it or do they pretty much just maintain themselves. As far as we know, the place doesn't exist unless one of us actively trying to visualize it, but then again, neither of us lives there, so it's not like either of us have a vested interest in trying to maintain it (visualization practice aside).

We did an interesting experiment yesterday to see how long Lance could use open-eyed visualization to hug me in the limo, when I wasn't primary anyway. It was really nice. Not as long or as often as either of us would have liked but a lot of the day was warm and fuzzy and just nice. Good practice too. Anyway, there just aren't a lot of things to keep going, our wonderland is super simple unless we are in some kind of guided session or it's one of those rare moments we really get deeply engaged. Normally, we are only ever worried about what is pretty much right in front of our face, which is why the inside of a cozy limo traveling through the unknown is easy to do.

The Gray Dimension is also fairly bare. Part of the problem is neither of us really spent enough time adding more to it. Cat has thought about making a stupidly huge wonderland with NPCs and all, but that would take away from Cat simply interacting with the Grays.

Also, the inside of a limo is a neat idea. I don't talk to Cat in the "wonderland" when she's passive forcing. I have my own little mini void that is never bigger than the size of a room in a house, and sometimes as small as a box just for me to stand in. In this void, I sometimes create an environment around me (ex. a pond and a bench, a living room with a lit fire, etc.) but sometimes I'm totally happy with a void with a neutral background. Cat only wants to go to the wonderland or the Gray Dimension if she can close her eyes and intensely focus.

Note: I'm hit-or-miss activity-wise on this account. I may not respond to PMs for awhile.

I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron.

My other headmates have their own account now, but it's outdated and I can't be bothered to update it

Well i keep the small apartment main room in mind when they're speaking to me, and even then, mostly just the couch they sit on. Though it takes very little effort to fly around outside in full view of every with traffic on mainstreet below and the hustle of crowds, but it's not like i care that there's a little curly haired blonde girl holding a red ballon, or a yellow Fararri, or a dozen dogs pulling a desperate girrafe with a hand on his top hat as he's dragged into the intersection while the dogs chase an orange striped cat. We're doing our own thing, i concentrate on one thing at a time mostly, and yeah, it's just always there, but it always has been since we made it.

I find it funny how wonderland is so permanent for me, like the castle we visited a couple times is still there on the hill. And the whole town we made for Gwen is still unoccupied by the one we made it for.

Just like your limo is just there.

I'd say, do what feels right for you. If it feels like it's too much, becomes too overwhelming or tiring, just stop and reconsider. The only think I'd say you need to watch out for is signs of mental fatigue. If you find yourselves tiring and the goals you've chosen are too many or too far out of reach and there's more frustration than accomplishment, go slower and smaller. Ideally, you'd want it to be challenging, but not become an unpleasant chore that you don't have any desire to do anymore. There's no better way to find a good personal pace than by trying it out and discovering your comfort zone.

There are people who flourish when they have as many goals as possible and people who can't even begin to focus unless there's one specific goal and nothing else. You just have to find out what suits you.

Ok, i have a question for argument sake. Should we allow terms in this community for quoigenic demitulpas, non-tulpa thoughtforms, or other such 'grey area' thoughtforms?

What the heck is a "demitulpa"?

This is post #1337 lol

... demi means part of or not whole, the real question is what the heck is quoigenic???

apparently it means "origin doesn't matter/we don't know", but that should answer the original question itself... you can use terms that no one understands, but no one will understand. We'd recommend you stick to existing terminology for the site.. but it's not really a rule as far as I remember

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

Words like "quoigenic" are meant to refer to the system as a whole, not individual members.

oo I guess you're right, those terms apparently refer to how the "plurality" of a system occurred, and not to individual members (so they don't parallel unintentional/intentional for tulpas)

..... I don't think tulpamancy should have anything to do with terms from a community where plurality is largely assumed to come from trauma, that rubs me in way the wrong way
