Let's Discuss Video Games

We've definitely gotten quite good at Taiko. While I played some significantly faster songs tonight than this one, the patterns I managed to hit amazed me. This is the first time my brain was unable to keep up with my fingers, usually at worst it's just my eyes that can't keep up (play with peripheral vision). But wow, 868 combo once I got used to it, and I have no idea how.

Your eyes will probably spin if you watch this and don't normally play Taiko, you get used to it. But until then, they spin..

As a matter of absolute favorite games, I would have to say the original Spyro trilogy. Although, when I feel the need for a challenge, I like some Dark Souls. I feel that playing 3-dimensional games helps with my visualization skills.

A Hat In Time will probably be one of my top 3 games when we finish it! It's super good!

Wait I forgot to mention, it's played almost all with one hand! The right half of the drum's red and blue are my ; and ' keys, left are d and s. It's a lot more intense when you do it with one hand!

Also if it makes you dizzy to watch the notes, I think you can just watch the drum too?

I got convinced to start playing Payday 2 again by a friend who recently got the game, and I'm already starting to remember why I left (game's janky as fuck and has a lot of connection problems and bugs even 4 years after launch). On t[video=youtube]

I've heard Payday 2 is.. not good, anymore. That it's hard to take the game seriously now.

 

We've just been playing a lot of Warframe. Lumi watched a half-hour review recently out of curiosity of how other people saw it, and apparently somewhere in the last 1400 hours we forgot to appreciate some of the basics this game offers. Apparently it's a "hidden gem of F2P games". Gave us a new appreciation for it I think.

I'm such a delicate flower. I finished Majora's mask and cried and felt terrible at the ending.

 

My host was raising her eyebrow so hard. She was like, Jees Eff'n Gee, It's only a Zelda game. Although she didn't say it out loud.

 

You know, she was kind of the same at the end of Twilight Princess. She 100%'d that game in the hopes the ending would change and not destroy her link-twilight princess ship.

At this point all it is (maybe all it ever was) is learning and memorizing new patterns of what order to use your fingers in. But I also feel like some baseline of hand-eye coordination is necessary to be good at it too, maybe.
