"I have a Tulpa." - Whom to tell?

You can if you're absolutely sure the people in question are open minded and can be trusted.

Told my friends, they thought it was neat. Also now they want to buy me a big-ass plushie in the form of my tupper, just to take the piss out of me. So be wary.

I want a Rina plushie! O.O xD

Though that'd be hard to make.

Interesting post. Seems there's non-hosts who sure do have an open mind to our collective weirditiness.

Welp, I probably won't tell anyone, atleast not in the near future. Maybe I will tell my best gaming buddy some day, I think he could really get into it himself, but for now i won't take the risk. If you want to tell someone you should really make sure that they can handle it well.

P.S. Mistgod forgot this time to mention how many people think he is crazy because of Melian and won't talk to him anymore because of her :D

Tulpa: Alice

Form: Realistic Humanoid/Demonic Creation

She may or may not talk here, depends on her.

I told my ex bf about Kovie while I was still dating him, back then she was named Ava and looked significantly different because she was still in the beginnings of her development. He was curious about it and very supportive of me, asked me about her sometimes and even had me relay messages to her. He was the only person I ever told, and now that I left him I tried telling my current bf about her but all I could manage was to show him the concept of tulpa existing. He said he thought it was dangerous, because really truly believing in a thoughtform's sentience would give them the free will to become hateful towards their host if their personalities didn't get along well. I tried to explain that's not how it works, but he didn't believe me. So I dropped the subject, and haven't told anyone since then.

Kovie, they or she. 7yo, mentally 19. active.

Vyx, they or he. 7yo, mentally 17. active.

Axen, they or he. age unknown, mentally 26. occasionally active.

Sanu, any pronouns. 5yo, mentally ageless. mostly inactive.

Leo, he/him. 6yo, mentally 21. inactive.

I've yet to start on my tulpa, as I'm still seriously considering whether or not I should really make another, but if I do make another I'm almost definitely not going to tell anyone about it. It feels weird and I always want to share this phenomenon with the world but the reactions from when I told people about M ranged from outright denial at worst and awkward "let's not talk about this again" acceptance.

Sounds like "I read a creepypasta and this is dangerous!" for me. It is not like we're dealing with necromancy here. But I think it is rare to have people being supportive on that matter. They would need to have a similiar mindset.

I think if I hadn't told everyone, eventually Melian would have. LOL

I told my boyfriend, some of my friends and my mom.

My mom was like "eh sure, why not, do whatever you want". She's pretty open minded, I really don't mind telling her stuff like that. I also told her when I was dating someone from a DID system years ago and she was totally accepting.

My friends.. well, some were really interested in the topic and asked a lot of questions. Not "I'd like to have a tulpa too"-interested, but kinda fascinated. Some told me that's really creepy and they don't wanna talk about this topic. Some were scared that Maja could get full control over my body and harm me and them or something, idk.

Yeah, sounds just like me. ..it really kinda does. Pshh.

And some were just like "Yeah that's cool, but not my cup of tea, next topic please".

I asked some friends to talk to her too sometimes, and some of them actually do. One of my best friends started to speak of "us" most of the time, instead of just "me", which is really nice. So generally, I'm glad I told my friends.

Oh well, and my boyfriend's kinda amused by the concept of tulpas I guess? He does accept Maja, and sometimes even speaks to her, but he doesn't really believe in this whole sentience-thing. And one of his first reactions actually was "So basically I'm having sex with two women? :^)"

Next week I'll go to a psychiatry (which is kinda nice, since I'll have a lot of time to force Maja! Already looking forward to that.), but I'm pretty sure I won't tell my therapist. Would probably just make everything more complicated.

The idea is to remain in a state of constant departure, while always arriving.

Maja will either use name tags, [brackets] or this colour.

Hey now, nuthin' wrong with necromancy. What is one supposed to do when they're bored?

Seems like everyone else kinda nailed the topic:

  • Be careful of whom you tell
  • Make sure they're open-minded
  • Might not want to go the Mistgod route...

XD y'all are hilarious

Also i told one of my Skype friends earlier today and we all had a fun conversation. The most talking any of them had done for days, Kovie is really excited about having another friend. ^^
